Great stamina and a box to box midfielder. Always remember the bell being rung for him at Maine Road games. RIP Colin.

I went to Uni in Manchester at the same time Rodney was transferred to Man City. Went to Maine Road often. It was true that Bell wouldn't pass the ball to him. Jealous of Rodney's closeness to Malcolm Allison.

Didn’t they nickname him Nijinsky after the racehorse not the dancer?
Great player.
Another great one gone.

Brilliant player, would be worth a colossal amount today. Part of the reason we failed to qualify for the 1978 World Cup was him getting a serious injury that kept him out of the game for the best part of eighteen months just a few months before Gerry getting his serious injury in the first qualifier for the tournament.
RIP.

RIP Colin, a great player.

Wasn't there a campaign by rival supporters to name one stand at the City Ground the Bell end?

I think it’s the new ground.
I seem to remember people going on about Seaman being lobbed from the Bell End!

Colin Bell and Gerry Francis, one of the finest England centre midfields pairings to grace Wembley.. Sad loss.

Was one of my first favourite players even though never that fond of City. I see comparisons being made with de Bruyne, which are not far wrong. 2021 continuing in the vein of 2020, another stellar player gone. RIP Colin

A truly great player, had the good fortune to watch him play for England at Wembley many times.

Coincidentally , ( although the game is very different now), the nearest modern comparison would be Kevin De Bruyne.
