...is the only time I've ever seen footage of our old half way line lads. I occasionally joined 'em, but that night was in the Loft.

my uncle and his mates used to stand there all through the 70's, when we played chelsea on that cup replay it was a 2 oclock ko due to the miners strike i think, 1973/74 ish.
we knew chelsea would swamp the loft, and on the day the queue for the loft went all the way back to batman close, 3 deep, and yes 90% chelsea, so i went over to the half way line with me uncles lot, and at ko time, in they came in their red, green and white woolen scarves, the north stand.
no trouble but a very eary atmosphere.
we won 1-0, and they took it out on the ground smashing everthing in sight.

Poll: how many games this season....home/away.

We ran across the corner of the pitch from the Loft into the Paddock that day.

Edit...think there were more Rangers in the School End then the Loft

I was in the Paddocks that evening, place exploded when Bowles curled that in!

Great night and great atmosphere.

Up there in the noisiest games, Stoke at home 75/76 with Webb scoring the winner for me followed by Newcastle away when Keegan scored.

I was at Cov on the Saturday for the 0- 0.
Not a memorable match. But the replay was fantastic a full house, with fans actually locked out.A great performance by Rangers coming back twice. Then Bowles stepped up for the winner. Pandemonium.
6th Round against Leicester at home who were without their leading scorer Alan Birchanall through injury.Joe Waters a debutant taking his place.
Another full house . What could go wrong?

Decent crowd, but locked out! I don't have the clearest memory of the evening, but I do have a reasonable recollection of sold out / all ticket games back then and this one doesn't spring to mind. A quick flick through the following games programme has 28,010 listed as the attendance, maybe the Loft was full, though I don't think so, certainly the Paddock appeared to have packed 'em in.
