I have to say, I've quite enjoyed the first two episodes of Welcome to Wrexham. Quite humorous to see these two get their head around what's going on. Appears they now want to be able to stream live National League games to paying customers but the National League whatever reason (I expect it's little more than "Just because"), ain't having it.

BT Sport have the current rights to that league don't they? I suspect it might be them who have more influence on it than the National League themselves do.
While Tinseltown is involved at Wrexham there is no doubt huge potential for them to tap into overseas streaming of their games for the actors fanbase, and perhaps BT Sport are the ones saying "Nope, not without our cut" or something. |  | | |

Problem with this is that the bigger clubs at this level will start to demand greater proportions of any streaming income as they are attracting more of the overseas viewers, and therefore increase the gulf between "bigger or smaller" clubs in the lower leagues. It would be interesting to see is they were quite as adamant for this if it meant they had to split half the income with Kings Lynn or Woking FC.. [Post edited 30 Aug 2022 15:23]

An opportunity to get some exposure and revenues in an overseas market though?
They must be mad turn that down no matter how small their cut might be. Wrexham will be promoted back to the EFL soon enough at that opportunity will be gone with them. | | | |
