If a team has done well they love the walking round 'lap of honour' and all the plaudits and absorbing all the good wishes but when they know they have played poorly they slope off and leave the supporters fuming. However, as we all know, the salaries they are on means that they don't really worry about the game that has gone and do not have the hardships that their supporters have.
So why not, if they have played poorly, make them go through a walk of shame!
Make them go and stand in front of the true supporters and be exposed to the booing, etc.
Players need to know that they have played poorly and actually SEE and HEAR the effects their poor play and indifference has on the supporters!
Also introduce a policy whereby if they are scored less than 6 in whatever the manager considers are a truthful assessment of performance, then have their pay docked for that week by one fifth or whatever and given to charity, nurses, St John Ambulance, whatever- but make them pay for their performance just as supporters have to [pay hard earned money to watch them not perform!
Someone get this suggestion to Neil or Les please!

Why do we even let it get this far? Andy Belk should personally dig out the centre circle and install a pond and ducking stool as the final stage in the recruitments analytics programme. If the prospective player survives the ducking stool then we’ll know they’re a wrong-un. If they drown then we offer them a 2-year contract. |  | | |

True historical note:
The Anglo Saxons had two separate punishments : Ducking (for nagging wives) and Cukking (for fraud). In the latter the person who had defrauded someone was made to sit in a chair in the village/ town and in their own Cukka (which others could add to) for up to a week.
They soon found that the easiest way to clean the chair was to immerse it and so the cukkyn chair and ducking stool served two purposes.
So I'm with you on the pond and the chair but the crime is Fraud (representing a professional footballer) and the punishment should be as per the Anglo Saxons! | | | |
