Given the effectiveness of that match, I wonder if that's how Critchley will have us play in general or whether he's more a horses-for-courses strategist. It also again begs the question, what happened v Fleetwood and underlines the feeling that the players simply couldn't be arsed.

We don’t get into get into dangerous areas near the opposition goal enough. 2 shots on target we had in that game compared to their 6. Posing no threat we were always going to be hanging on.

| Critchley’s positive adjustments v Sheff Utd — Analysis on 15:35 - Jan 13 with 776 views | Jules4367 | I have to say a really positive and concise analysis and enlightening with regard to certain aspects. I have really enjoyed (and learned) reading it. There is something I still do not understand and the Sheff Utd game is a prime example of this, my having posted (ad nauseum) about our habit / tendency (whatever) to concede at the end of the game. Why, when we have fresh pairs of legs on the bench and all could see that Kakay's legs and those of others 'had gone' and also we had no outlet upfield and simply kept drawing Sheffield (and other teams onto us) causing increasing anxiety in the defence, why did the manager/ his support not bring on a couple of runners who could relieve the pressure?? I'd rather someone new, with strong legs and ability to run and chase, than having someone whose legs were slow and we gradually had 10 then 9 players who could effectively challenge the ball. All could see it and there is no point querying the extra minute....we do this to ourselves time and again and have done for years. Please manage the last 10 minutes of our game! As for pressing (and very interesting) how do people feel about our defenders ability to get out when there is a high/ consistent press against us? I don't feel confident when we play out and they close us down. Finally, we simply need to retain control of the ball and that means not passing to the other team or having Lyndon on his own winning every header but nobody alongside to pick it up. Still a fabulous piece and my words are not intended to take anyhing away from how good it is! [Post edited 13 Jan 2023 16:15]
