How's it going to play out then? 10:55 - Jan 31 with 2485 viewsMonkey_Roots

Assuming we don't bring anyone in...

1) Structure stays the same as it currently is, we muddle through until the summer, start again.

2) One of the owners - a lone wolf - buys everyone else out and says 'enough is enough, I've been wanting to do this for ages', sacks Les and Hoo's, Critchley and the PE teachers.

3) Owners stay as they are, Les et al get sacked.

4) Oil tycoon buys the club, gets rid of everyone and brings in a random team.

Thoughts?

What will happen, and what would you like to happen?

Should that have been a fifth option?

relegation, 2 years down lower and for the fans, probably enjoying new grounds and 'competition', out in the first round of both cups. then the heady heights of the championship ......then repeat ad infinitum.

I'd like to see the owners stop pfaffing around, and sort this self-created mess out.

I'd buy Fernández from Benfica (£105m), Ziyech (£40m), Gyokeres (£22m plus add ons), Berge (£25m) and Bereton Diaz (£10m).

I'd also test Villa's resolve for Archer and Fulham's for Mitrovic too. I'd also try tempting Cancelo before he goes to Bayern.

This should hold us over until May, when we can really cut loose.

I wonder what Millwall’s and Luton’s back room staff wage bill looks like compared with ours? As Clive said, lots of cooks and not much broth at QPR.

It certainly has that feel of the Vinnie Jones era, hoping that 1-1 home draws and none of the dead below us rising again will be enough for us to stay up…for another season of the same.

I don't think the structure is the problem at the club, it's probably time to change it up and get in a new DOF and a new CEO which would probably have a ripple effect and see a few other people leave as well but I'm not sure ripping it up and starting again makes any sense.

The biggest problem the club faces is the FFP rules which see us going into every season with one armed tied behind our back. That won't change with new owners or new coaches/manager/dof

What we need to do is be a lot better in the transfer market and if we are going to spend money on the academy actually use a few players in it

Brereton-Diaz has already signed a pre-contract with Villareal.

apart from that, a faultless plan.

Can we not knock it?

I liken us to a neighbour down the road , he has an old Mk 4 escort turbo sitting on his drive for what feels like an eternity!
Every now and again he will be out there p!sing about with it , wheels off , rooting about under the bonnet , seats out then back in .. you know the sort but ultimately it doesn’t move . That fcuking thing hasn’t moved off his drive since it turned up. I’m sure he’s got aspirations of having it all restored and shiney and reliving his 80s boy racer days but it ain’t going anywhere anytime soon unless someone who knows what their doing gets hold of it and gets it going

What about we clear out the DOF and CEO, put in a team that has the right experience to bring in the right players. Let them work their magic in identifying those players and in the summer spunk a whole load of cash to get them in. Go all out for promotion and 2 fingers to the FFP - we’ll worry about that when we get relegated again.

If we get it, great! What a laugh that was…

If we don’t, take the points deduction, go down and go again… what a laugh. that. was?

All sounds great, what happens if despite spending money on the right players they hit poor form, get injured or something else goes wrong, we don't go up and have to face the punishment straight away

Then we take the points deduction, go down and start again.

If we carry on like this, we're likely going to end up there anyway, so go out with a bang, no?

I'm half joking.

Unless, you wanna do it, in which case, I'm all in. What can I do?

Effing useless dithering Les!

That should have been nailed on when the TW opened! And I bet Chelsea beat us to Fernández, as they did with Kante and Havertz.

This is more likely. I think we will continue playing snakes & ladder in this table, with more of the former, and just about stay up.

What I would like is the owners to get rid of the DoF and ‘his team’
and let Critchley get in his own staff to replace them. Or maybe appoint a knowledgeable DoF.

Eventually Les goes, we bring in a new DoF but call them 'Sporting Director' to briefly blindside people into thinking its something different. It won't be someone the fans have heard of but rather someone from a forward thinking lower league club. Within 6 months and we're still a Championship club, he will be hounded out with a load of people not sure why we can't just get Gerry Francis doing the job with Neil Warnock as manager. People have heard of them after all. We stay exactly where we are. Critchley joins the backroom staff of whoever replaces Klopp at Liverpool. You heard it here first.

If Les goes you can't have the manager picking his replacement, that would be like the players choosing which manager they want

Surely, if Les has his "team", then if it were to be replaced by Critchley's, aren't they also part of Critchley's "team"? As opposed to being part of Critchley's "staff". Or am I missing something?

I'd give you good odds on near-identical debates happening on the forums of around 80 of the other 92 clubs atm.

I'd venture to suggest that the only clubs you'd find more or less positive messageboards just now would be:

Arsenal
Newcastle
Brighton
Fulham
Brentford
Burnley
Sheff U
Luton
Coventry
Plymouth
Sheff Weds
Derby
Carlisle
Stevenage

Therefore and thence.

Or we did when I lived there, in Victorian times.
