A couple of things about that game. 1)Look at the refs position for our goal.He was virtually on the goal line, not stuck out on the edge of the penalty area unable to see anything going on with players holding each other.
2)How clear and loud was the PA system?45 years later and we can’t hear a word in the lower loft.
3) Parkes with no gloves on a freezing cold day.How cold must’ve his hands been, especially with that stinging shot saved in the 1st half?
4)Some proper challenges going in there and nobody rolling around like they’ve been shot. Good old days.
That was one of my first ever games. I was only seven. They beat us in the second replay after drawing at theirs. I assume they won the toss. Very unfair that toss system, unless you won it!
That was nostalgic. To put that in context, that was an iconic Forest team who won the league and back to back European Cups, as well as a few League Cups.
I couldn't help but notice how different our midfield was to the 75/76 side, and how we were on the slide to relegation soon afterwards.

One of my first, too. I cried when they equalised, it just seemed so unjust.
Oh that was a depressing trip indeed. Seem to recall we were stood in the side terrace next to the Trent End. Think there was a power cut during the game
