For some reason the Eze goal against Stoke on opening day of the season stands out for me most when looking back at games. Unfortunately, my Palace memory is Phillips' thunderbolt after being 3-0 down at half time.

Another vote for that Eze goal As soon as he picked it up it felt like it was going to happen , one of the best live team goals I’ve seen

Eze wasn’t here long, but boy, did he bring some class to the mediocrity. What a player, now a bench warmer at the gooners. Criminal.

I was also there when Bircham got Gerry Taggart sent off and Gallen ran a masterclass in how to beat 10 men.

Long-term, it is crucial to the club and shows we are on an upward trajectory. Not as sexy as a new Ronnie Edwards signing, but far more important. I just hope, over the next month or so, everyone holds it together, as with the current injury list, there aren't going to be many wins.

The club do need to learn from it though, and improve. Not shunt out favourable statistics and “data” to pretend it’s not happening and not a problem. Because the Christmas schedule next season won’t be any different, and if we come out of it with one win and 10 first teamers injured we won’t be making the play offs next year either.

Learn from West Brom, find another way.

Ditto for me, if he still refuses to play Sam Field with these injuries. It’ll be irrefutable evidence the club are trying to freeze him out and push him to go somewhere else. I feel that will turn out a mistake. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Think today might be the start of a gradual slow down after a good first half of season as the club take stock of what might be needed to progress next season. We need to progress to a side that’s comfortable in possession, we are nowhere near that at the moment.

I like the fact that we are striving to attain Cat 1 status, but does that in itself automatically equate to high(er) standards? I'm not sure. Charlton have had a much better youth system that has produced players of first team calibre, for them as well as some being poached by other clubs, for a number of years. Millwall's youth team of a few years ago reached the FA youth cup semi-final. A far greater achievement than the cup victory of our development squad last season, as all teams take that youth competition seriously. The Bees have done very well without having Cat 1 status. Next season will be their 6th successive at the top table. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds in years to come. You're bang on about us needing to become more comfortable in possession if we have any pretensions of rising further up the table and seriously contest for play-off/top two places.
