Clutching at straws barely covers your attempts to justify his performances.

I find his ball control laughable. I coach 10-12 year olds and they have better technique than Kone.

His record now stands at 2 in 20 is it? Very much on a par with our other distinguished strikers named in your list.

However, I look forward to the ongoing development of this top talent and genuinely hope he scores against Oxford and I will gladly eat humble pie. Will be watching his performance with interest.

If he could learn how to trap a ball at the first attempt, even that would be a massive improvement
To not even have the basics of the game in your locker, as a professional footballer, is frankly unforgivable.

I agree to some extent that playing the ball in front of him might give him the opportunity to run onto it and shoot, which is his strength, but in a foot race over more than 5 yards, he is more often than not second best. Running the channels is not his game.

Unless we play to what strengths he does possess, he is essentially a passenger.

I’d rather pull my own fingernails out than watch one more minute of that dirge.

Shooting aside, I haven’t seen anything that indicates he is a championship striker.

Cannot control a ball to save his life, lost possession time after time yesterday. Rarely wins a header, gives free kicks away for fun and his passing accuracy must be awful.

May improve, but at 22, he is not a kid. The technical aspects of your game should be well established by now. I can see why he has done well in the lower leagues, but he has some way to go to become a decent championship striker. Hope he does, but I find him a painfully frustrating watch.

And yes, I have seen plenty of shite strikers, been supporting this lot since the 70’s. Chap.

Kind of ironic that Dunne and Cook have been our standout performers recently and yet we have just spent 4.5million on a centre half. At the moment they are both undroppable, although a 3 game week should provide Ronnie with some minutes.

Surely the distinct and obvious lack of quality is a cause for concern?

Gritty performance indeed, but we will get absolutely nowhere unless we have some quality about us. Technically we were woeful today. Those possession stats tell the tale of our almost complete inability to retain possession through poor control, passing and decision making.

Accept that we are a work in progress, players missing etc etc, but that was a dire performance with a point achieved through the heroics of Dunne, Cook and Davies who looked the only professional footballers we had out on the pitch.

It’s not just his lack of goals that’s the problem, to see a professional footballer that cannot control a ball or barely run is mind boggling. You can almost guarantee that if you play the ball into him, we will immediately lose possession. Technically, he is one of the worst strikers I have ever seen at this level.

He does

Kolli and Bennie have a real opportunity to make their mark over the coming weeks. They need to seize it with both hands….and feet.

Eze wasn’t here long, but boy, did he bring some class to the mediocrity. What a player, now a bench warmer at the gooners. Criminal.

Sell Jon Varane ?
at 09:45 14 Jan 2026

As a selling club, we should bite their hands off. He has made no real progress from last season and has in fact, gone backwards, unlike Madsen who has improved significantly.

Hayden should take his position and Morgan should be given more game time to aid his development. Both are better options than Varane, who is far too negative.

Hayden all day long for me. Was also impressed with Morgan when he came on. Constantly looking to turn and progress the ball forward, unlike Madsen who just wanted to play a five yard pass sideways in that last 10 minutes.

Ronnie returns, but is it the handsome deal QPR hope? – Signing
at 09:14 11 Jan 2026

That may be, but how many games will he actually play?

He may still be in the building, taking a wage we can ill afford, but will no doubt be keeping company with his now close mates in the treatment room.

The need for a permanent, reliable fixture in that LCB role has now been filled.

LB and a replacement for Dozzell mark ll to be sorted in the summer…..hopefully.

Kolli rescues Rangers, but injuries mount – Report
at 22:06 5 Jan 2026

I too have given up on Varane. In the 25th minute (mental note taken), he had the ball on the edge of their box with 6/7 players up in support,in and around their 18 yard box. He duly turned around, trundled back to the half way line, then passed it back to our keeper. Just wtf are you doing?

I have taken pelters on here for admitting to being pleased he may now miss a few games having hobbled off. So be it, for me we have 3 far superior midfielders sat on the bench and I include Morgan in that trio. Morgan may be partial to the occasional brain fart, but he is progressive, brave and reads the game well. Basically everything that Varane isn’t.

The likelihood of now seeing more of Field, Hayden and Kolli is perhaps the refresh this side badly needed. Adding the elusive Chair to that list would also be greatly welcomed.

Dembele and Saito need a lie down in a dark room.

That was the most unconvincing 3-0 I have ever seen, looked like a 1-1 was likely for much of the second half until Kolli stepped up.

Amas at left back for SW was the best player on the pitch and only a teenager.

Shame about Burrell, but Kolli now gets the chance he has been waiting for.

For me, Varane being out for a while is a god send. Offers nothing. Hayden and even Morgan are far better options, bemused by what JS sees in Varane.

He knew he was having a bit of stinker, it was a look of relief and frustration that something had finally come off for him. Looks a proper footballer to me. Needs a run in the team now, which he will get with Burrell out.

Varane out for a while now. Good.

So what do you suggest, putting the footballing leviathan Varane back in to ponce around for 90 minutes without laying a glove on Bannan or anyone else?

The underbelly of this team is so soft it is dragging across what’s left of the ice rink of a pitch.
The lack of grit and determination beggars belief. It’s there for everyone one to see and JS has finally woken up to the reality that is QPR.

Unless they dig deep tomorrow and win the most winnable of games, the “hyperbole” will go into overdrive.
