I was in San Sebastian for a few days this week, and this explains why so many apartments, billboards, shops, bars etc. were bedecked with blue and white hooped flags.

Which reminds me when we made the 82 final, so many houses where I lived in Greenford had QPR flags etc. on display. Fck me, that was 44 years ago!!

I love San Sebastián. Great people. Lovely beach. And all those lovely pintxos. Surely the winners of the Copa Del Rey and the Coupe De Perpignan should meet in some kind of European Super Cup.

I agree Daniele. San Seb is probably my fave Spanish city, too.

If UEFA had any sense, then you'd think a match-up of Le champions de Perpignan against the Copa Del Rey would be the perfect antidote for footballistas tout monde to rally behind instead of FIFA's tawdry homage to the 1936 Berlin Olympics in the US later this year.
