Not directly related but my daughter "won " category 2 tickets in the initial draw for the WC in the USA .This was gauranteed to be decent/good seats but 5 months later when they arrived they are nosebleed and pretty much worthless for any kind of serious enjoyment.
To nobodys surprise that happened across the board so much that the NY Attorney General is opening an investigation into the greed ,corruption and flat out money grab FIFIA pulled off this year and gave for decades I am sure .
No help to the millions of fans right now of course .

Where are the players in their role as activists? They could be the most effective group of people in changing the culture of corrupt governing bodies but they are weak and I would argue complicit by being part of the circus.

It won’t happen but given that they do nothing to advocate for fair treatment for fans can’t understand why fans wouldn’t refuse to support them on the field of play.

This will be the second World Cup I won’t watch any games after the players cowardly stance on the rainbow captain’s armband in Qatar. I don’t support players wearing such an armband but if I did once they agreed to wear them if I had been the England captain I would have suggested to all the England players we all enter the field wearing the armbands to call FIFA’s bluff. Yellow card us one and all, oh and by the way we are still not removing the armband. What now FIFA?

I would have also reached out to other team captains asking them to mimic our team’s stance. Surely if you really believed in the cause you were fighting for you’d be willing to take a yellow card. Players could make a difference if they really gave a toss.
