Jesus. Race to the bottom between him and Dave Kitson. I thought he would have done us a job last season.

Yep. Whilst not for us now, I can't believe that no-one else, even in League 1 or 2, has picked him up.

A drop of 5 divisions in 2 years, apparently.

DJ Campbellā€™s world was turned upside down when wrongly implicated in a match-fixing scandal. Now fully exonerated, the much-travelled striker is trying to rebuild his career

He has probably found his true level.

Probably bag a hatful against the Stones in a few weeks then.

A real shame it never worked out for him with us. At least he gets to say he's scored a goal for his childhood team (that wonderful game at Stoke (EDIT: doh, not Stoke, Wolves) away when all seemed well)

It was at Wolves. The day of the Ale Faurlin masterclass.

I feel for the guy. All he wanted to do was play for his team, QPR and injuries really messed it up.

Never knowingly right.

I think he had the dreaded metatarsal injury.

At the time Warnock blamed "stupid boots, they're like carpet slippers"

Used to play at Wormwood scrubs as a kid, quality shone then, tiny little bugger with lightening feet - really decent kid too- wish him all the best.

If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled. PG Wodehouse

Loads of players who you would recognise without clubs at the moment. Some just dont get it that outside of the top two divisions, there is no money.

Great signing for Maidenhead I pop along 2-3 times a season to watch them. Cant imagine what they offered DJ given their general budgets.

Was an article roughly this time last year about players who were free agents once the season started and ended up to all intents and purposes being forgotten.

Essentially what appears to have happened with Balanta. Played plenty of L1 football to good reviews, spent this summer on trial at a host of L1&L2 clubs only to end up at Bristol Rovers in the conference after the season started.

Sensible short term move for Campbell, way below his level, score a hatful and he will get a move higher up the leagues in January.

I believe he's already done an interview for Maidenhead saying he's looking forward to his first start but regrets the red card in the 64th minute of his debut

Allegedly etc, etc.
