I parked near Didcot station this Saturday and noticed a big mob of hoolie types coming out of the station and descending on the nearest pub. I assumed they were Bristol Rovers fans as they were playing Oxford but thought it odd being so far away from the city. On return to the car at 2.30pm the police were in attendance in numbers and it appeared to have kicked off in the pub.
When I checked the next day it transpires these were Hereford fans attending the Didcot game which was abandoned on 89 mins due a pitch invasion with the Didcot keeper being head butted after Hereford scored what they thought was the winner. Hereford apparently took 800 to the game which was about 4 x the home support.
It looks like Hereford are the new AFC Wimbledon ie a phoenix club working their way back up the leagues with comparatively huge support. Once again its a shame for the genuine fans as there will be sanctions and possible points deductions just as the club is having a change in fortunes.

I used to live there. Beautiful county, odd city. Over the years I recall rumbles with Wolves and Cardiff, though I don't know how they got to play them. Shrewsbury used to be a bit of a derby. |  |

Shrewsbury is now the big fixture, followed by Cheltenham. But, after a little research, it seems they have a bit of a thing with Cardiff and Newport...so not all bad. Also turned up that the older fan considers Worcester City the traditional rival. | |
