My second game ever (I was 8 and had first been taken when I was 5) and I was also in the School End. Me and my brother went down to the front so we could see. I remember making monkey noises at Peter Mellor - hadn’t quite got the hang of the live experience.

I never realised Fulham wore yellow away as I thought they wore red and black stripes in those days on their travels. I think the result was not too important as we were already up before the game. I think Dave Clement got the first goal.

I was 7. End of my first full season watching Rangers. Stood in the paddock level with the penalty area at the school end. When I say ‘stood’ I meant hanging on for dear life to the perimeter wall which was higher than me even on tiptoes! Peter Mellor in goal for Fulham and Alan Mullery was in there team that day. Was a great season when Rangers scored plenty and we had some real home grown heroes and of course Stan. Scoreboard was on the floodlight pylon on the corner of theSchool End and the newly built Ellerslie Road stand, was a lit up white scoreboard with the name of each team put in and a wheel with the numbers on to depict the score for each team. ‘Bet with Joe Coral’ was the legend underneath it. Checkered programme costing 7p. What a fantastic time to be a supporter.
