The deflection has no bearing on whether he was offside or not.

Was he offside when Willock shot, that is all that matters? The angle does not show us, so we are none the wiser!

Twitter pic tonight shows he was being played on by the central defender. To be fair a difficult one for the linesman but he was on. VAR would have said the goal stood, much as I hate VAR.
