| If you were a player, would you read online forums 09:01 - Jan 13 with 1080 views | numptydumpty | I personally would know its not a good idea, but temptation would get the better of me. Would it be a positive experience for me reading , I would say 100% no !!! Probably only time it would be positive for me, would be if I read it after a good performance but then guess you get pulled in. I heard an interview with Alex Scott and she said when people are making horrendous comments, veiled threats and personal abuse the effect of on her going out is that man / woman looking at me funny over there, the person that wrote that. Appreciate comments on here not at that level but it would be tough to avoid, and probably your mates might look at it anyway and tell them what people say. Bit of a conundrum !!! I'd try not to for weeks and then probably binge read it and hate myself for caving in. It would be fine reading the sane posters, but you'd probably have to block quite a few even on here. I'd also read Clive's reports. | | | |

Yes Nix, I definitely read Clive's reports but I would get someone else to read the forum and give me an overall assessment. Might be tempted to have a peak though. | | | |

I think I read once that they now have training on how do deal with it. I remember Clarke Carlisle saying that he used to get up at 5am to read the Sun match ratings and it would make or break him and was partly what led him to suicide attempts. That’s why anonymous multiple account holders can be so destructive. [Post edited 13 Jan 2023 10:59]
