The irony doesn't stop at them having the same name and their playing careers being at the same time, they were both Black Country born and bred. They also started in neighbouring teams, Phil Parkes (dead), played for Wolves, while Phil Parkes (alive), was signed up by Walsall. | |

Very strange coincidence.
I remember going into a bar with football on and the Spurs line up was announced and at right back they had Kyle Walker Peters, which was strange given Kyle Walker was best right back they ever had at Spurs.
Only other one i remember was 1990 world cup Gary Stevens right back from Everton was in same line up as Gary Stevens midfielder from Spurs and to cap that they had Trevor Steven there also.
Only QPR one i could think of was Dave Thomas the legend of the TEAM, and legend of the fanzines Kick up the R's Dave Thomas.
I vaguely remember the Wolves Phil Parkes but the Rangers Phil seems extremely well and good for his age. Doing well. [Post edited 9 Aug 0:02]
