Cropper was the antithesis of lots of the speed merchants already mentioned. Lovely clean tone, perfectly phrased and timed riffs, masterful use of a chop. He was like a good ref - did the job so unobtrusively well you might not take a lot of notice but when he's not there everything goes to shìt rapidly. RIP |

Flexibly speaking, I would advise you not to be so condescending to your fellow supporters eh? |

I make a point that some people hold absolutist binary opinions and you prove it with the first four words of your reply. Well done, I'm impressed. If you were at the Ipswich game and think that Esquerdinha is ready to be considered back up, I worry for you. |

... and Matt said nothing negative in his post. Following Rangers is becoming increasingly Brexit-ish - if you're not 100% behind Nourry and the project you're an idiot and if you are, conversely everyone else is an idiot. It's a tired trope but two things can be true at the same time. Matt finishes by exhorting us all to "support the things we do know." I do know our best options at left-back are a loan deemed surplus to requirements at a team in the relegation spots and Sam Field. You cannot look at that one position - an issue for 3 years now - and wax lyrical about balance and depth. |

You asked a woman for directions? A WOMAN?!? For the love of all that's holy you'd have been better off asking a dog to explain the concept of Norway. |

They have an excellent exhibit on the clitoris but I struggled to find it. |

Oh yes. Last known as Foleys and more an estate agent. If I had to pick a pub most at odds with it's namesake it would be the Smuts. Jan Smuts (international statesman): signed the Treaty of Versailles, Paris Peace Treaty, founded League of Nations, Commonwealth and instrumental in establishing the United Nations. General Smuts (pub): all disputes settled with a heavy glass ashtray |

Sobering take Brian. Makes you wonder what will happen if any of the 16 countries in the playoffs end up going through with a player suspended. Scales and Festy get a hall pass for the semi though, right? Right? |

A Fifa statement said: "If Cristiano Ronaldo commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the number of adoring blowjobs he receives from Gianni Infantino may be reduced" |

I think with Eze it's not just an "scored X goals in Y games" it's that he improves year on year as he goes on. 2, 4 and 14 with us, 4, 1 (played less than half the season), 10, 11 and 14 for Palace. That's he's on 4 already for Arsenal and it's not Christmas suggests 20 might not be unrealistic. |

1995 so i think their first gig without Reni. I think the Roses binned Glastonbury because Squire broke his arm in an accident. We were all taking the pìss before Terence Trent D'Arby's set saying we'd hold up lighters and swoon for "Sign your name..." - surprisingly, he's a bloody good musician. I saw somewhere he still touring today in his 60s uber a different name. |

I'm another who was late getting into the Roses - I was always a bit "meh" as they didn't meet my bar for "good" which was basically Pink Floyd, the Who, the Stones (the Clash once I "discovered" them) and anyone who played in the Yardbirds. A mate of mine at school got me into playing the guitar and emulating those bands and artists was like a kid trying to emulate Messi for me. This mate was also a big Stone Roses fan and I kind of absorbed them as Squires was like a lot of guitarists coming out of the UK at that time - different. Lots of pentatonic, blues-based riffs but with these mad things like drop-D tuning, wah-wah, reverb and nutty delays. I saw them live once at the Féile in Cork (the Levellers played it the year before which was the last year at the Semple stadium in Thurles) - some line-up for £45. I've listened to lots of Stone Roses and I didn't think Second Coming was as bad as some made out (it was just impossible to follow something as generational as TSR). Being a (poor) guitar player I always focused on Squires but after a while you realise it's Mani holding the whole show together. |

I find myself struggling not to buy non-slip bath mats in Dunelm. Being in Dunelm in the first place is another fùcking massive red flag. |

My eldest boy is in his second season in the Harrow Youth Football league since doing rugby since U5. I knew the way the kids carried on would be different but it's embarrassing and JPL are the worst. Kids called Sebastian and Tristian threatening to "pop a cap in yo ass" while having half time organic blood orange segments from Waitrose doesn't scream "roadman" to me. |

And I think that's Hallgrímsson's big problem. Easy to say "job done" after a result like that but you almost want media/ex-players/pundits writing you off again so you go again. Superb result |
