So we're about the least high press team in the league, we don't engage high up the pitch, nor do we recover the ball there. Implies we get back in to shape. Should explain why we're doing well on shots and XGs conceded. With middling other stats, nothing from these numbers to suggest why we're top of the league for shots - we're not overly vertical, or high possession. So there's some secret source to our attack these numbers aren't catching, or...maybe our shots and XG will revert to the mean of our other mid-table stats?

The only squad tinkering I'd do, and it would be a luxury, would be to sign a physically commanding centre back and offload Morrison. As others have pointed out, Jimmy D is the only 'profile' we don't really have back up for. |

The first weeks are always the best time to play the relegated teams.
They haven't adjusted yet, made their new signings, or offloaded those that don't want to be here. After Xmas they're normally flying with bigger budgets and squads and residual quality showing... |

I think we're better with JCS at the back. Ronnie can be exposed for size and physicality at centre back but playing where he is gives more room for his reading of the game and range of passing.
I think Ronnie could be a premier DCM but not a premier CB. |

I wasn't holding out much hope for him but was impressed with these two performances. He's not that young, but could be player in there after all. |

I think he swept up and 'moved it through the thirds' at least as well as any attacking player would have. I'm not even sure he misplaced a pass, yet was always progressive. |

Agreed. I thought Ronnie was perfect today. Loved how he got it out of his feet and moved it forward so calmly. |
