Bonne towards £7m!
at 10:15 7 Oct 2021
Reading the bond prospectus and noticed:
"During the January 2021 transfer window, the Club secured Joe Walsh and Macauley Bonne on permanent transfers, the latter having been on loan to the Club since October 2020. These player registrations were acquired at a cost of £7.0 million of which £1.2 million is contingent on one or more future events."
That can't be right? We can't have spent £7m+ on Bonne and Walsh. I can only assume this is poorly written and that £7m includes the signings in the following paragraph
"The Club secured Charlie Austin, Stefan Johansen, Sam Field and Jordy de Wijs as permanent transfers in summer 2021 (each of which were on loan at the Club during the 2020/21 season) and Moses Odubajo, Andre Dozzell and Jimmy Dunne also signed for the Club."

We 8 Chelsea
at 20:54 4 May 2021
Occasionally I find myself having to explain to people, often Europeans who've moved to West London and are choosing a club, why they should despise Chelsea. I thought it might be handy to have all the reasons in one place. Can you help?
Next season's squad
at 10:55 18 Mar 2021
With 10 games left, safety secured, promotion avoided, I started thinking about the squad for next season.
Lumley, Cameron, Wallace are all out of contract I believe. I can see Cameron returning to the land of the free. Wallace might get a one year extension (he'll be 34 but apparently great influence in dressing room). Kelly sees his future elsewhere. I'd be happy to re-sign Lumley but he may want to go.
We have an option extend Carroll's contract and to buy Field and De Wijs I believe, which I think we'll take up barring injury. I don't know about Johansen or Austin. I'm not sure anyone is likely to be sold because a big offer comes in, apart from Dieng perhaps.
That leaves us with:
GK: Dieng, Barnes, Walsh
RB: Kane, Kakay
CB: Dickie, Barbet, De Wijs, Masterson
LB: Wallace, Hamalainen
CM: Ball, Field, Amos, Carroll, Bettache
AM: Chair, Willock, Adomah, Shodipo, Thomas
S: Dykes, Bonne, Kelman
Hopefully we won't have to see another overhaul in the summer and it'll just be tweaking the squad.
I'd love us to sign Johansen. If he's not available I think Warbs will go for some experienced height and strength on a free to replace Cameron.
I can see us signing a left wing back if Wallace doesn't re-sign and maybe even if he does.
If finances allow the only thing missing is that marquee centre forward. Austin is unknown, really, and it'll all depend on the contract he can get elsewhere. I have a sneaky suspicion Dykes will start up top next season, get a goal in the first game, and go on a riproaring confidence-inspired run.
Warbs has mentioned missing the pace of BOS, so we might go for a powerful rough diamond from somewhere too.
It should help our performances next year if we're not shipping 10 in and out again.

Combined team of the last two seasons. Imagine the movement, football and goals in this:
----Dickie Cameron Barbet
BOS Johanssen Carroll Manning
Bench: Austin Hugill Adomah Willock Ball Kakay Lumley
Liverpool playing just like us
at 20:55 16 Dec 2020
All the possession, all the adventure, one, two, touch, angles, close control, probe and probe and probe again, but scoring is like shitting a pineapple. Opposition score with their only chance. Literally the only difference is we wouldn't get a lucky deflection to score, and the goal we'd concede would be a lot shítter.
