WALOB , any excuse to take a pop at the fans...the atmosphere may not have been as good as WBA but the fans were fine last night...maybe you would have factored in the stain on our club because of the spygate issue affected people's mood last night...I'm done with this site..you talk crap mate. |

Lets not forget the 7m Croatian wonder that was Mislav Orsic..another SR coup ...I think we saw 45 awful minutes against someone where the only thing I noticed was that he couldn't even run properly. |

Onuachu started 11 games and scored 4 goals.
2 of those goals earned us 4 points in that disaster of a season and without them we'd have finished the season on 8 points.
To say he was arguably our worst ever signing is frankly ridiculous ...you do have some odd views at times.
Dont you remember Guido Carrillo ? 19m , 7 games 0 goals??
Damon Downs has been a terrible signing, 7m for a Championship striker who literally did nothing ..him and Carrilio are the two worst imo ....for their cost and performances . |

IWood is bigger, a little quicker and better in the air than Stephens but when he's on the ball he has the coordination of a new born giraffe and he makes me edgy.
As we all know there are some on here that will wait for hell to freeze over before they admit that Stephens is pretty decent at this level and is an ok squad player at Premier league level...hence why he was wanted by Bournemouth a few years back.
We miss his leadership and and calmness on the ball...thats not knocking THB who I think has really stepped up as a leader ...just a different sort of character. |

Two very good but leggy Championship sides both going for the win , lots of misplaced passes from both teams.
Good atmosphere last night and the fans really got behind the team.
Agree that we've missed Stephens ...I think he would have increased the chances of seeing out the game last night , he tends to revel in that kind of pressure and generally steps up.
I think there's a over expectation on Scienza from the fans. He's trying to make things happen and takes gambles and it doesn't always pay off but I thought he was OK last night.
Charles is the most frustrating player for me...he cruises around the pitch and switches from a Rolls Royce to a Robin Reliant in almost every game he plays...he needs to step it up. |

I'm looking forward to the game and hoping for an inspired Saints performance...fingers crossed.
The actual day is a pain....stupid kick off time appearing the TV companies and a ridiculous early coach departure means it's the whole day and night gone which is pretty draining when you're taking your kid and I'm not a drinker...what happened to the good old 3PM KO. |

I thought we played well and apart from the first 10 mins we mostly were in complete control, I always felt confident we could get a late winner with a bit of luck or skill. |

I'd love to watch a few more games in the Chapel too.
I was in blk 19 for the Arsenal game for a change from our normal seats and I loved it there...I've got no issue with the Northam ( apart from the dumb and boring anti Pompey stuff) .
My issue is I'm taking my youngest nipper who's 13 and he's a passionate Saints fan and he's trying to be a little geezer in his weekend defender hat and burberry scarf looking up to the older nippers and there is no way he's having anything to do with the Chapel. |

Of course the atmosphere would have been special at Fratton on Tues ( pains me to say that) ....they're fighting for their lives and the team put in a brilliant performance and beat a top side....just like we were against Arsenal where the underdog spirit will lead to a great atmosphere...its simply not going to happen when you go 2 nil up fairy quickly against a poor side ...no where in the country would any fans be roaring on their side in this situation.
If our atmosphere is poor/average..call it what you like ...what difference has it made to the actual results?
When were we last beat at home??
Pompey have won 7 out of 21 home league games at home backed by their amazing supporters and the pi**ed up bell ringing sap in a wig!!.. |

This kind of reminds me of the Dell days in the 80s and 90s when you could graduate from the back of the Milton (the muppets)....to where the more grown up wit and banter occurred in the East Stand.
I remember the guy who always turned his support from Saints into a left wing political comment ..think it was that Perry guy and the fan who made exotic bird noises always amused me. |

There was lots of singing mate.
I sit in the Itchen north and loads of us join in with the Northam.
It was never going to be a cauldron of noise and passion ....we were effectively playing a training match at a slow pace against Blackburn on a wet Tues night...Ive been to loads of away matches and Saints fans are no better or worse than many others.
If you've been on here long enough you get used to Nick moaning about the fans... |

Our average crowd for our promotion season 2011/12 when we finished 2nd was 26,000.

Brilliant performance , like everyone else I couldn't be happier with the team and manager.
Sports Republic have shown themselves to be pretty good at putting together very good Championship sides and absolutely disastrous at putting together Premier League sides. |

I'm loving this season but we've achieved nothing yet , so on that basis I preferred the season under Martin.
I really enjoyed the 23/24 season.
The playoff performances were immense.
There was more goals per game in Saints matches that season than anyone else in the Championship and personally I found that quite entertaining! |
