Temporary lights.
at 23:40 27 May 2020

As a driver during the night I’ve had to put up with 3 years of the A14 being closed for rebuilding about 15 miles of it around Cambridge. They've finished the work 8 months early, but due to being furloughed for the last 9 weeks I haven’t had a chance to use the bloody thing yet.
I’m sure they’ll find another major road to dig up for when I get back behind the wheel.

Face Masks at KPFS
at 13:23 26 May 2020

If the rate of infection drops and hopefully the death toll,it might be something that we will have to live with until/if they find a vaccine for it.
There will come a time when a few hundred deaths a year might mean that it’s an acceptable number to ensure we can get back to anything like normal again.

Face Masks at KPFS
at 08:04 26 May 2020

Maggie would’ve loved it,identity masks for football fans.
All the hooligans can have their own designer masks made by Burberry and stone island. No more away fans sneaking in the home stands with a club face mask on.
Would there be an away mask too?And the 3rd kit too in case of a colour clash?

I was at a family wedding in Kent.We made the pub in time for extra time and penalties. The only telly was in the other bar so we didn’t really get to see a great deal of it.

What a pity
at 16:59 23 May 2020

I only ever went their once when it wasn’t to see qpr play, and that was when they played Exeter and Gerry Francis was playing for the Devon boys at the time. And that was only because I got a free ticket from s mate who used to work for the SFA.
I think it ended up 4-0 to Brentford and I was bored after about 5 mins.

I went to see the Milan derby in about 1993.It was AC at home but Inter scores after 6 mins for the only goal of the game. There were signs that said bar at each corner so I thought I’d console myself with a beer at halftime only to find out that they didn’t sell alcohol.
It was an impressive stadium though.
Napoli’s stadium isn’t bad either, and least you can get beer there.I saw Taraabt playing for Milan against the home side and the atmosphere was very good.
The stadia olimpico in Rome is in a fantastic setting with statues everywhere you look, and very friendly locals.Or at least they are for the rugby.Football might be a different story, especially as an away fan.
Ive just checked and the Milan derby I went to was 10/03/96.

I worked with a bloke that always blamed Hitler for Brentford’s demise. He used to bore me to tears with his crap about the bees.Lucky I haven’t seen him for 16 years because he’d be even worse now they’re better than us.

I know they’ve been to Wembley at least twice.Once in the freight rover trophy against Wigan and lost. Also the league one playoff final against Yeovil and lost that too.
You’re right about the other things though.

Season over for EFL
at 22:55 21 May 2020

I think it really only affects league one because of the situation with Bury dropping out. Some teams won’t have played as many as others.I think Ipswich had played 2 more than Wycombe until pretty close to the end of play in March.
I just looked at the table and they’ve played 2 games more than 7 other teams.

at 13:34 20 May 2020

It was £sd when I first started going in Oct 1970.I seen to recall 1s 3d for kids and 2s 6d for adults but I’m not certain of that.
I thought the programme was 7p and 10p with the football league review in it.
I never had anything to eat or drink either in the ground or not.

I used to sell the club lottery tickets during the 1976-77 and 77-78 seasons, and that was for a free season ticket in the loft.My parents used to buy them all from me in the hope of winning some prize money instead of just giving me the money to go to football with.

It also ensured that we never got relegated to the 4th division of league football despite finishing bottom of the league on a few occasions.Unlike our middx and Fulham friends.

They play 3 games against the same opponents,so that’s 33 games, and then the 5 games against the other teams in your half of the table.
Luckily rangers and Celtic are normally in the same half of the draw,so that ensures the 4th old firm game of the season.

Just to let you all know that BT sport 3 (417) is showing highlights of our FA cup final from 1982 on Saturday morning at 9am.
I guess it might be both games, but I’m not sure yet.

After hearing some of the stories about Upton Park I think I was very lucky not to get a slap standing with the West Ham fans in the chicken run in 1976.The next time I went there was the first of 87 and it seemed much more civilised by then.

I agree with you mate.No more weekends in Newcastle or similar places. And we’d get to travel to the same grounds year after year. Not for me thanks.
And I was looking forward to using my over 60’s railcard to get some bargains from next season too.

I moved away from my place too just after getting abuse once they’d discovered we were qpr fans.It wasn’t the biggest terrace to try to hide on either.
I certainly didn’t celebrate our 2 goals either. We left about 5 mins from the end as I had to get back to Putney and had school the following day I think.

My mate and me were on the chicken run in October 76 for the league cup game.My first away game and I didn’t have a clue where to stand,so we just rolled up and paid on the gate.
I think after getting abused for shouting to get Lampard sent off for hacking down Thomas in the first few minutes,we managed to get out alive, just.
