The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP 07:01 - Apr 4 with 2322843 viewsLblock

Here I am starting this from my recovery bed and no clue how to link tunes on an iPhone!

Will stick on my offerings from a PC later unless the other knuckles thread is the preference to use?

House classics and dancey dazzlers only, no hijacking from suicide rock please!

In the beginning there was jack.......

Been meaning to update for years.
Can only be one.......

Something new(ish). Really liking the new wave of afro-house.

Agree mate. check out Black Coffee if you haven't already. He's playing out some wicked stuff atm.
This track came out a couple of years ago but i only really cottoned on to it this year. Off the back of that track i discovered Black Coffee.

I've already put it up on here but think it deserves another blast. Probably one of my standout tracks of 2017(even though it came out in 2015) from about 3min 50 its goosebumps .

François Kevorkian at his own behest laying down the foundations for the best part of 5 minutes.. before letting it whip for the remaining 3 minutes of ambrosial disco / funk this side of the firmament. Magic.

Sadly Digweed is closing his 'Bedrock' Forum today after many years.

Good of Diggers to highlight and choose my suggestion as the closing tune for the forum!

I Couldn't Think of a better record to close out with. Many of us on here are on the mean, mode and median of middle age and suckled greedily at the engorged milky teat of Funk, Jazz funk, P funk, soul, Disco and rare groove in our infancy before The Monolith organ of House and Prog was planted in the salted earth by pioneers such as diggers and thus made us the men we are today.

Its not over. Its Never over. Viva Bedrock. ;-)

Any reason for closing it?
I hardly went on there tbh as it wouldn't let me log in for some reason.
Good place to start on a youtube trail of progressive house music.

QUALITY TRACK

Takes me back to my wedding of a couple of years back - I named the tables after record labels, made the centre-pieces out of 7 inch vinyl records of labels and tunes from years gone by and had the graphics department in work whizz them up with the peoples names at the tables on the label credits.
Well I liked it even if nobody else did!!!

My good friend LadbrokeR read out the lyrics from this little ditty during the service.
There wasn't a dry eye in the house.... how we laughed at his drunken ramble....

(Apologies - I've just realised I probably posted all the above about two years back -- probably page 45 or something!!!!!)

Had Dave Stewart play this for me yesterday morning on his show.
Been up before but I just love it - the Joey Negro remix of this wasn't his finest in my opinion but the original still sounds funky as hell

(something the club could do with at the moment)
