The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP on 09:58 - Dec 1 by Discodroids
Any good Steve ?
Where were they playing?
As I have crawled, scratched and bitten my way into the classes of bourgeoisie Britain (but yet to have the 4x4 and complete arsehole attitude) I last saw Jazzy B and the crew at Kew the Music in Kew Gardens a couple of years back. The sun shone, the beer was cold and; much to the chagrin of many a local Richmondite; a sweet smell of sensi hung in the air. Jazzy B took to the stage with some Sarf Lahdahn wit and a near two hours of musical bliss ensued.
Fair play indeed.
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

They were ok mate I was a little disappointed as they were only on for an hour and a half the brand new heavies were much better as the supporting act I thought Caron wheeler though was very good her vocals haven’t missed a beat in 30 years Got the hangover from hell today though
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

I think i mentioned the trumpet player of the Brand new heavies for much of the 90's lives next door to me, Shanti. He makes Charlie Drake seem like Roy pretty boy shaw. nice bloke though.
glad you enjoyed it mate. That hangover should be done by 7pm and you'll be gantin' on a beer.

The trumpet player was very good really weird that one of the male singers was dressed up like Jim Morrison from the doors he stuck out like a sore thumb I might crack one open in an hour and see how it goes, I think il be on my own as Mrs P was totally wrecked she couldnt walk andshe spewed up all over the hotel carpet (classy) The DJ who was playing in between groups was also good , he gave this a play last night leading to yours truly cutting some drunken shapes

I used to listen to man on the radio prior to going out on a Saturday night and would then try my hardest to find where he was playing that same night to get a double dose!
Anyway, by way of a tribute to the great DJ himself here are some of my favourite tracks he used to drop.

RIP Trouble. A true originator who developed his own style. A more talented DJ than Oakey, Tong and Rampling put together.
Agree with you a 100% on Oaky and Tong, But Not Rampling. Rampling is Class. Different Class.
In addition Oaky may well be a Micky Most Character but his Essential radio one goa mix, 94/95, is considered among his peers to be of elemental proportions.

If this doesn't get your feet tapping then I don't know what will!
I have the CD of this chez moi. I bought it back in the days when I could still go to a club without looking like a dealer or someone's dad.
DJ Unjustified and Ancient
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Going to do a classic early Progressive House vinyl mix tomorrow 91- 94.. Ooooo yeaahh Expect plenty of Guerilla records, Cowboy, Limbo, Stress. Kicking off with this . The "progressive" tag was coined in 92 but this Scat mix is as progressive as you could get at the time. Harder edged Balearic House.
Shifting through the gears and cranking it up, this tune is gonna get a spin as well. :) Got a few tunes from producer Simon Lovechild. This is a belter.
