Hopefully if enough victims have the strength to go to the police and make statements they can catch the MPs involved. How many more people were involved in these situations in the past?How much of it was going on?

Very very scary this but if everyone remembers there was a TV doc about 2 years ago where a lad unfortunately wrongly named an MP as abusing him and it ruined the MP's life but what never got followed up was that it was someone from the government at the time and I think this is going to blow up to be the biggest story of the century so far over here.
I see that there is some more news on Brittan today - I mentioned in the first thread on this subject (that got deleted I believe) that it was suggestive that he felt the need to answer, what appeared to be a simple question about the whereabouts of a dossier, via his lawyer
The whole lot of them have been f*cking the rest of us for years, it shouldn't surprise anyone to learn that all forms of abuse and corruption are to be found in their ranks.

Hopefully if enough victims have the strength to go to the police and make statements they can catch the MPs involved. How many more people were involved in these situations in the past?How much of it was going on?
Complaints would have been made, they would as lots of things have been, swept under the carpet, this would not just be politicians covering up but anyone who was regarded as an 'Establishment' figure, not forgetting this covers a wide spectrum of professions and it also seems the 'Showbiz' fraternity ,that have been taking a battering over the last year or so.
The eras that are now having the spotlight shone on them were so very different than now, information is now available 24 hours a day and from so many sources not quite so easy for those in postions of power and authority to be able to hide their peccadadilos from public attention quite so easily.
The newspapers many owned by 'Establishment' figures or with connections that run deep into the seats of power, were never going to upset the applecart, news on tv was restricted to a couple of 30 minute segments a day, and scandel belonged only to some despot in the thirld world that was probaly spoiling us getting to their minerals or oil, as long as the News of the World didn't get its mitts on who was shagging who, most must have thought they were pretty safe.
I know of child abuse cases from the early 70's that were covered up, not from hearsay or rumour either, some were friends at the time and what they suffered does not bear thinking about,the perputators and those that covered their trail would most likely be dead now and if not, very hard to prove the case against them, the 'official' Government enquirys now being talked about will drag on for months, maybe even years before a few if any are put before a judge.
This country had long been a haven for peadophiles and deviants with connections in the right places, it's only really in the recent past that 'child protection' has become a subject brought to the fore and the seriouness of just what serious mental & physical effects these criminals have got away with for decades.
As someone mentioned in an earlier post, a few 'scapegoats' may be revealed, none to high up the chain I bet, they will be nothing more than 'sacrificial lambs' , for whatever reasons those with the power will never really want to rock the boat, too much at stake for them, a few MPs will carry the fight and Government Ministers will give out the 'sound bites' to show they are in touch with the voters but ranks have been closed over many of these cases and one can only hope that the dark days of previous eras may well have come to an end.

5.7.14 The more you hear and read about 'the lost dossier' of papers surrounding a paedophile ring centred on Parliament, the more it stinks of conspiracy and cover up. The Tories are panicking and running for cover. Cameron should instigate a proper, formal and independent Inquiry, not a Home Office Investigation. Is he implicated in this too?

Geoffrey Dickens MP had a half hour meeting in 1983 with the then Home Secretary Leon Brittan during which he presented a large dossier of proof and discussed its contents with Brittan. Bear in mind that this information was a potential nuclear bomb waiting to go off. Brittan says he just handed the papers to The Home office to deal with and now assumes that they took appropriate action. How could an intelligent politician leave such a potentially damaging time bomb at the back of his mind and not even check to see what was happening on at least a daily basis? Maybe we should rename him Pinocchio Brittan?
- In 1981, Dickens named the former British High Commissioner to Canada, Sir Peter Hayman, as a paedophile in the House of Commons, using parliamentary privilege so he could not get sued for slander. Dickens asked why he had not been jailed after the discovery on a bus of violent pornography. In April 1981 Sir Michael Havers, the Attorney General, said in parliament that while Hayman was a member of the Paedophile Information Exchange, he was never a member of the executive committee, so was not prosecuted as others were for publishing contact advertisements. Was Havers a part of the paedophile ring too? Or was he just covering up for his public school buddy?
- On 29 November 1985, Dickens complained in the House of Commons that he had suffered harassment following his naming of Hayman. "The noose around my neck grew tighter after I named a former high-flying British diplomat on the Floor of the House. Honourable Members will understand that where big money is involved, and as important names came into my possession, so the threats began. First, I received threatening telephone calls followed by two burglaries at my London home. Then, more seriously, my name appeared on a multi-killer's hit list. By 17 May 1995 Dickens was dead, and his voice had been silenced.
- In February 2013, Labour MP Tom Watson asked the Home Office for Dickens' dossier. A Home Office review in 2013 concluded that any information requiring investigation was referred to the police but revealed that Mr Dickens' dossier was "not retained". It had been destroyed.
- In July 2014, the issue was raised again by Labour MP Simon Danczuk, Former Director of Public Prosecutions, Lord Macdonald, said the circumstances in which the dossier had gone missing was alarming and recommended an inquiry into the fate of the dossier. Prime Minister David Cameron asked the Home Office Permanent Secretary to investigate what had happened to the missing dossier. Danczuk responded that another internal inquiry was merely trying to limit damage, and that a public inquiry was necessary to retain public confidence.

I wondered what Vaz's interventions today were about. First thoughts on Vaz were 'what's it got to do with him?' Turns out he was Solicitor for Richmond Council at the time, he has always denied any knowledge. With the furore in 1982 before the D Notice was applied in August 82, it beggars belief he would not have known. Makes him very suspicious in my eyes today. The head of Social Service at Richmond was the peodo supplying children he was very quickly removed with a golden handshake after which he feld to Malta and remains. It doesn't make any sense that the Richmond Boroughs Solicitor at the time would not have been involved in drawing up contracts etc in that employees removal. It's also alledged that Blair issued another D-Notice only ever referred to as one of his Ministers just before we went to Iraq on 'security grounds.'
Cameron seems clearly to be stalling for a Public Inquiry, why?
