Robert Elms had Joy Division v Nerina Pallot on his #cover2cover slot just last week.

Have to say I mentally fell out with him when he was quite dismissive of the previously mentioned June Tabor/ Oysterband version.

Captain Sensible wanted The Damned to rework the whole of the Rolling Stones’ Satanic Majesties LP but Vanian said one track was enough.

I love how the the words are slightly different ie: whereas the Stones sing:
In the streets are many walls
Hear the peasants come and crawl
The Damned sing:
In the streets of many wars
Hear the panzers come and call

Pretty sure that’s just how the lyrics sounded to them rather than a wilful alteration.
