New football league proposals on 12:03 - May 20 with 1233 views | isawqpratwcity | As Clive's been banging on about all season, the Football League could easily improve the fixture list just by using a bit of common sense in not scheduling length-of-Britain treks for mid-week fixtures.

New football league proposals on 12:19 - May 20 with 1204 views | YorkRanger | My guess is the proposal will not get the necessary support to pass through the vote. The reduction in fixtures and associated cost of revenue will be too much to bear for the lower league teams particularly. I think others may also be concerned that the holy grail of the Premiership is pushed slightly further out of reach for some...

That is tough on the hard core supporters, for sure. Have to say though, as a supporter who gets a nose bleed every time he travels further North than Luton and that's before the wife lays one on me, it's infuriating when they schedule 'Southern' games like Brighton, midweek when work prevents getting to what would have made an attractive weekend away game. I would miss the Nepalese Tandoori for midweek home games though, they do a mean curry.
New football league proposals on 12:51 - May 20 with 1159 views | Devonrrr | I was told by a director of a League 2 club that the evening fixtures are purposely arranged to be design to be between clubs far apart geographically. The theory being that if the away following would be relatively low for a Saturday game then a drop in support for mid week wouldn't cost as many £££. Sorry, I don't think that makes much sense but I know what I mean

New football league proposals on 13:37 - May 20 with 1088 views | paulparker | Its just an excuse to shoe horn in B teams from City, Chelsea , Arsenal , Utd as well as Celtic & Rangers

New football league proposals on 18:15 - May 19 by Northernr | Yeh Bradford guy has said the same, because they'd lose four matches worth of money. Another thing to consider, these extra teams required to make up the four sets of 20 - are they going to be from the conference, or are we rattling towards Premier League B teams in the Football League at which point I think I'm just about done with the sport in this country. |
Football League probably just preparing for the inevitable when the Premier League becomes a closed shop and they'll do away with promotion/relegation. All those businessmen who have spent millions/billions on their clubs have to protect their assets, right? It's all going the same way as US sports.

New football league proposals on 19:02 - May 19 by Rangersw12 | Seems like a good idea to me and the logical thing to do would be to promote clubs from the conference to make up the difference I think this B club is dead in the water as 90% of clubs would have to agree to it which won't happen |
The PL has plenty of ways to stem the trickle down of money and twist smaller clubs arms - see EPPP.
