Rival XI 14:11 - Mar 22 with 2065 viewsMedwayR

So in our boredom myself and a few mates are putting together our 'dream team' made entirely from players of our biggest rivals. So the Liverpool fan is doing a Man Utd XI, the Man Utd fan is doing a Liverpool XI and of course I'm doing a chelsea XI. The only rule is that they can't have played for your club which rules out the likes of Wilkins, Wilson etc. Ideally it'll contain players you'd have liked to have played for your club.

How would yours look?

GK: Cech
Def: Petrescu
Def: Desailly
Def: Bogarde (just for shafting them by sitting on his fat contract!)
Def: Azpilicueta
Mid: Poyet
Mid: Gullit
Mid: Lampard
Mid: Mata
For: Zola
For: Vialli

No players. Just one member of staff - the physio doctor who annoyed Mourinho - she deserves a mention. No players, ever.

What about Danny Drinkwater.
Cost £35 million and played only 12 games so, just under £3m per game.
Whist also keeping Loftus Cheek out of the team so, that when he did get in the team he was then injured.

It's these sort of buys that we want Chelscum to do more of in the future.

Steve Francis?

It was indeed Steve Francis.

From his wikipedia: "Francis signed as an apprentice for Chelsea in July 1980,and made his debut as a 17-year-old at Southampton in the League Cup in October 1981,and made his League debut in November 1981.[3] Francis was initially a regular in the side, but the arrival of new goalkeeper Eddie Niedzwiecki in 1983 saw him relegated to the reserves for most of the next three seasons. Francis returned to the first team after an injury to Niedzwiecki, but conceded 14 goals in three games over Easter 1986 and never played for the club again."

So his memories of us are unlikely to be fond.
