Lots of arguing on here tonight. A gb 11 plus subs is needed. Feck Gordon banks great pele save. I'm starting with pat Jennings in goal. Far better keeper. Over to you. Ten plus subs to go. That's if you agree with Jennings

Because it's funny.

Because the whole point of the IoM is to be excluded from everything. Including the 21st Century, and the 20th if possible.

I went to the Isle of White on a day trip once. It was like going back in time 40 years.

Now they're all smartphone ninjas. Apparently.

I never realised that IOM wasn't part of the UK. What is it's status?

Which IOM player(s) should be in the British Isles (excluding the REPUBLIC of Ireland) team?

ok, for real

1/ Pat Herrings
2/ Fox Dale
3/ Kieron Tierney (Manx, but Karl won't admit it)
4/Dominic Shimmin (Manx, but doesn't know it)
5/'6 fingered' Costain
6/ 'Monobrow' Costain (Father and brother to '6 fingers')
7/ Tommy Clucas (Manx, but doesn't know it)
8/ Tim Wald
9/ Vic King
10/ Craig Nish
11/ Kirk Michael (Like his near name-sake, a real poster boy and had his pick of the females. Alas, just when he had appeared to settle down with his favourite, we had the great shearing incident of '73. He never kicked a ball again)

Self-governing crown dependency (Alcohol, mainly) in the British Isles.

Not in the uk, EU and increasingly, the 21st century

Thanks for Clearing up the IOM question DistortR.

Just editing my team. I forgot Duncan Edwards. He goes straight into midfield. Baxter drops to the bench and Dalglish is out.

Are IOM players eligible for all four UK countries?

Here's my attempt at an 11 from England Scotland Wales.
I was born in 1970 and started watching football in the mid 70s so I've only included players from then onwards.

Neville Southall

Danny McGrain Sol Campbell Des Walker Gareth Bale

David Beckham Gordon Strachan Paul Gascoigne Ryan Giggs (even though I can't stand the bloke)

Kenny Dalglish Les Ferdinand

Interesting selections. I wouldn't break up the arsenal back 5. There are better players individually but as a unit I'd keep them together. I'd have Bryan Robson as the holding midfielder. Giggs on the left. Gerard in the middle. Gascoigne drifting from the right with Charlton up front. Greaves up front with Charlton. Robson is up for debate. Banks omission as poster rightly pointed out NI not recognised by all as UK
