Quiz Questions 12:41 - Jul 4 with 3060 viewsBrianMcCarthy

I have to do a zoom quiz tonight. By any chance has anyone got some questions I could borrow from so I don't have to spend hours trawling the internet?

Please and thanks!

Spike Milligan - except it's in Irish as they refused to put it up there first so the family put it there in Irish (Duirt mé leat go raibh mé breoite) and told them it meant something else.

Which makes it even funnier again.

Brian,

I'm an idiot, I now cant find the answer to my daft scientific question

The Black Watch are so called as it was one of their 'duties' so to speak to 'watch' over the Highlands, in addition they had dark almost black on their tartan. (I'm am ex squadie with an interest in military (Army history).

Yep. Trick question. Mahatma means 'great of soul', it was a nickname if that's not a crude way of putting it.

Mohandas was his first name.

This contributes little to this thread but I want to say it. When I was looking for a flat for the missus and me to move in together, I viewed a flat in Barons' Court that had a blue plaque; Gandhi lived there when a student. Would have loved that, but circs dictated otherwise. Shame, would have told everyone Gandhi & I lived in the same flat & let them think we were mates.

I am still Steve but no longer in Dagenham.

That wouldn't have been the first thing to cross my mind.

Yep Tom and Jerry. This q came up in a Fastest Finger First quiz (on FB Messenger) that our pub quiz fraternity has been enjoying during the last 3 months. Many other answers from me and others until I got that one, and 5 points!

Thanks Steve. Forgot that one from my teenage years.

As well as the "general" knowledge we also did one where you had to name the group from the surnames of the members. One contestant took great delight in getting me to pronounce Falkstog (Agnetha) from ABBA.

Correct. He composed all three theme tunes.

I knew he wrote the tune for Tales of The Unexpected, and somewhere in the back of my mind I recalled that he wrote the theme tune for The Prisoner, which I watched avidly back in the day. Didn't know about Steptoe & Son.
