Warburton gets his ball-playing centre back - Signing on 03:28 - Sep 2 with 1157 viewstimcocking

I hear people saying three at the back. I like to play with three at the back on Fifa, always strikes me as a formation which gives an extra body, so to speak.

In real life, though, don't we always get hammered when we try to play three at the back?

It worked a few times last season but means Bright can't really play wide so we lose one of our best attacking threats.

I'm not sure why 'people' are saying three at the back. Has this started on twitter?

We played three at the back on a few occasions last season, usually to try and stiffen the team to end a losing run and on the first occasion with BFG recalled, I believe. We will probably play it again, on occasions.

It is seemingly not Warburton's preferred formation, 4231 is.

IMHO Dickie has been bought because we need to strengthen the centre of defence, the squad and maybe to be that leader that many people believe we need.

Oh, to answer your question, Tim.......only when Redknapp tries it with Richard Dunne at left centre back and Traore at lwb.

You can renew a season ticket either online through the website or by phoning the box office, imagine many are waiting on how it will all work with going back to the stadium before renewing.

I sent the club an email a few weeks ago saying I was willing to renew my ST.

Got a reply

Many thanks for your email. Currently because of the current situation the season ticket deadline has been extended indefinitely. Once we have further information regarding supporters attending sporting events and EFL matches then we will set a deadline for supporters.

You are welcome to renew your season ticket online however. Please follow the link below:

So follow the link. I admit I'm not overly computer savvy but I cant find any way to renew my ST

Looks an excellent signing, first one I have been genuinely excited about since Charlie Austin. No doubt ACL against Plymouth is on the cards. Well done to the club (and I think particularly Warburton) for getting this one over the line. Can imagine there was plenty of interest and would not have thought money was the deciding factor in his decision.

if you go to https://www.eticketing.co.uk/q and log in to your ticketing account you should have an option to renew. if you are in the lower Loft you'll have to ring the number I posted as you can't renew there online

Or email BoxO@qpr.co.uk and they usually reply within a day and can arrange to call you if thats easier

Thanks Dave - I had no luck on the website, but renewed via the 0208 number. I can't imagine we'll see many games in person, at least for the first half of the season. Bring on Forest !

I'm still not sure where Bright will end up positional wise. Given his strength and ability to hold off defenders and get a shot away, I could easily see him moving into a more central striker role. I know he's caused opposition teams all sorts of problems from wide so you would be losing something but the pros may just outweigh the cons given what he could add.

A certain Mr Ronaldo made himself known as a winger during his early days as did a certain Thierry Henry. You wouldn't call them wingers now so may be something the Manager is considering and would save a few quid on a striker although I still think we’d need a loan to help out Dykes.

I don’t think BOS does the loan striker role that well. He is improving at it but he doesn’t offer any kind of aerial threat which is needed really. Even Wells won the odd header here and there. In our system I think he’s best on the left or right of the front three.

Having said that I don’t think Ollie Watkins was expected to do as well as he did up front for Brentford. From memory he only really ended up playing there after their striker signings didn’t materialise last summer. Nearly ended up top scorer in the league.

Agree he’s not a loan striker. Was thinking more with a 3 at the back system it’s much easier going into a game with 2 up front without losing the midfield battle. He could then play alongside a Dykes type forward with a Chair/Thomas, Amos/LTC, Ball/Cameron making up the midfield 3 behind with Manning and Kakay/Kane the wing backs.

A few people seem to assume BOS will be here next season - I don't believe he will

More reason to move to 3 at the back system - take the money and invest in a couple of strikers. I still think BOS could become a decent second striker but him leaving, us seemingly setting up to play a back 3 would mean we wouldn't need to go searching for a direct replacement. At the same time, he signs a contract, we play him alongside a striker and have the option to move him wide if required.
