Captain 10:58 - Sep 2 with 5613 views | hantssi | With both Hall and Leistner leaving who will be captain this year? We’ve a very young squad which needs a leader on the pitch, doesn’t have to be a “shouter”, leading by example is perfectly acceptable. Do you think it will be handed to Dickie, was he captain at Oxford?

Captain on 10:35 - Sep 3 by CliveWilsonSaid | Yes agreed Brian. Especially in a young team like this one. |
Having said it, though, I have no idea who our captain should be. Looking in from outside we rarely do. Of late Ned, Hall and Barbet were all surprises to me.

Reminds me of the sixties when I was in the cubs team. When we went to an away match we travelled on the bus. The conductor would print all the tickets out at once and they would all be attached to each other. The man of the match got the bus ticket as a prize.

Leistner too was a slight surprise. Coming straight into the side as captain. I think we still had Bidwell and Luongo back then too. Maybe something similar will happen again with a new signing coming straight in as captain. Ben Watson for example.

Captain on 18:16 - Sep 3 with 901 views | numptydumpty | Is captain massively important in football ie in cricket it is key - but football you want everyone to know their job and let others know when they need a helping hand. So you want most players to be capable of that Also obviously Captain would need be someone who almost guaranteed a regular starting position - Manning and currently I guess Dykes possibly Chair only fit that criteria - reading between the lines On that basis I think Manning would be a good shout but whether it matters much I not really sure

Captain on 18:18 - Sep 3 with 893 views | danehoop | Not sure that Manning will tick any of the boxes as captain yet. Still hasnt signed a new contract, so no guarantee of starting place when the season starts. Realistically it's Barbet as he is the closest thing we have to regular starter.
| Never knowingly understood |

True yes - be real shame if we lost Manning this season though - think he would be a big plus for us this season - have hopes for that boy but yes just as likely to leave... Yes not many guaranteed starters - Barbet likely to be I agree...
