We’ve a very young squad which needs a leader on the pitch, doesn’t have to be a “shouter”, leading by example is perfectly acceptable.

Reminds me of the sixties when I was in the cubs team. When we went to an away match we travelled on the bus. The conductor would print all the tickets out at once and they would all be attached to each other.

Leistner too was a slight surprise. Coming straight into the side as captain. I think we still had Bidwell and Luongo back then too.
Maybe something similar will happen again with a new signing coming straight in as captain. Ben Watson for example. |  |

Is captain massively important in football ie in cricket it is key - but football you want everyone to know their job and let others know when they need a helping hand.
So you want most players to be capable of that
Also obviously Captain would need be someone who almost guaranteed a regular starting position - Manning and currently I guess Dykes possibly Chair only fit that criteria - reading between the lines
On that basis I think Manning would be a good shout but whether it matters much I not really sure |  |

True yes - be real shame if we lost Manning this season though - think he would be a big plus for us this season - have hopes for that boy but yes just as likely to leave...
