My son was chatting with his Uncle yesterday and asked if I remembered him? Defender, but I’m afraid that’s about it, didn’t make many appearances as far as I recall.

Solid player, played lots of reserve football from maybe 89-93 or 94. I remember he was highly rated and got England Yoof caps. Dark hair, maybe 6ft at a push, quite strong and a decent reader of the game but lacked top-level pace and aerial ability, I thought.

Left us for Orient, I think.

Two Lincolnshire sausages, mash, onion gravy and garden peas. For desert, you had apple crumble with custard.

I watched a lot of youth and reserves football back then. Too much maybe!

I seem to recall him being a half decent player?.

I thought maybe he was a distant relation!

I remember him. Was a back up centre back around 92-94. Pretty sure he played a handful of games. I recall he played away at Oldham in the 4-1 defeat, the one where Les scores a bullet free kick from literally 80 yards out!

And I think McCarthy scored a very unlucky O.G.

I think i paid about £20 to listen to him and Lee charles give a stunted staccato interview to Tony Incenzo on Club Call.
