| Fair play Paddy Kenny on 15:12 - Oct 1 by Toast_R | Rob Green was a steady Championship goalkeeper no more. He was never an improvement on Kenny in a million years and the fact we signed him in the Premier League where he plundered goal after goal because, well, he just wasn't very good, proves my point. A total waste of money. I didn't make much of Cesar either, positioning on free kicks was shambolic. A classic case of an Agent fluttering his eye lids at the club and QPR taking the bait. Cesar was a very good keeper. You don’t play at Inter and Brazil without reason. Remember going away to the Emirates where we looked nailed on for a point until Mbia had a brain implosion and walloped Vermalen. Cesar must have pulled off 4/5 world class saves until we were undone by an offside Arteta goal. Green in patches played well, but I never rated him prior to him joining as I remembered when George Santos pinged a dipping half volley from 25 yards at home to Norwich. Played very well in Play off final but cost us so many points back in the Prem. Kenny was great. Looked like a pub team keeper but pulled off some great saves. I remember beating Arsenal 2-1 at home and he pulled off a save from Van Persie that was out of this world | | | |

Well, yeah, but in defence of anyone who sang that, isn't it the mirror image of "don't boo the players at the game, it won't make them play better"? Also, tbf, thank God there is only one of the bastard.

Green cost us so many points in the prem?? Second best player all season behind Austin. Of course he cost us points too with those missed pens.

The season in the Prem before we went down and the season we came back up he cost us points on numerous occasions. On his debut Michu put one through him which Kenny would have chucked his cap on. Chelsea at home with a wonky kick after we had played really well. West Brom at home with a flapped cross ( might have been Championship after 2nd relegation where he was getting worse week by week and we had Smithies on the bench) 2nd best player behind Austin? We’re all entitled to our opinion but not for me by a long way

Yeah, well remembered, just checked, eleven. It was one defeat in the first sixteen and ten clean sheets, eight of them consecutive! [Post edited 2 Oct 2020 9:03]

Cesar may have been a good keeper but had some poor games for us, Swansea away 1-5 when he kept knocking saves back into the danger area and Villa away, when we bossed the first half only for him to misjudge a cross and let them equalise on the stroke of half time and we went on to lose 3-2.
