International break = bonus content on the Patreon to thank you for your financial support.

Sat down with Dave Thomas earlier this week to go through the history of AKUTRs, how iut got started, who Tommy Nintendo was, where Kerry Dixon's penalty landed, why Andy Townsend hates him. It's a belter.

Both parts now available to listen to for all three Patreon subscription tiers.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in. I have always loved AKUTRS and would buy it before the programme back in the day.
I just posted a vid on my youtube channel about the very first issue of the fanzine which i still have happily.

Excellent stuff, Clive and Dave too.

I can't profess to know you or Dave well, but have spoken to you both on a number of occasions and forget Nick London's tongue-in-cheek "Legend" calls, I view the pair of you in that bracket.

Also, good to have it confirmed how quickly Ron and Simon wanted out. They, too, were massive positives in the early Internet days and I have the utmost respect for them. That toxic nature on modern living (is it REALLY just Social Media?) is unacceptable and I am sorry that you all have to put up with that.

Keep going, mate, the Patreon sub is the least I can do for the pair of you.

Thanks.

That's kind mate.

With sparkling timing the latest anombot account surfaced over the weekend, @SJQPR, coming after me, David Fraser etc. Launched at exactly the point the DavidW and Old Bill accounts were deleted. Really tiring.

Sorry to hear it.

I just went on to block his account and I see he's one of the Tommy Robinson sloths.

Whoever does it always populates the account with populist politics tweets. It attracts large number of bot followers, and real people of that political persuasion who don't care if you're a fcking raving weirdo as long as you're saying political things they agree with. It will blanket Tweet shows ike Question Time to build up its followers, then sets off on its QPR targeting.

Mega, mega weird.

I was going to speculate as to why someone would do all of that but then remembered that if you look for sanity in lunacy you only find lunacy for yourself.

that was a superb interview with a typical DT goodbye which keeps what you thought was the end of a conversation going for another 5 minutes but another 5 minutes of pure joy and enthusiasm.

Every time I see him usually I'm on my own he asks after my two sons whom he only met once on a sunny afternoon in Falkirk.

You forgot to mention that he's a music impresario

Looking forward to Simon Barker who did get the bird an awful lot unjustly I always thought in the same way Olly got in his playing days.

Sure he got the Mavis tag to to him looking like Les Dennis who used the Mavis name in comedy peetake

captains fantastic

Really enjoyed that, some great stories. Can't wait for the Simon Barker one, for some reason really loved him as a kid. I think mostly because he scored in one of my earliest games.

Regarding that sad case on Twitter, I like to look on Twitter for QPR content and there is some great stuff but you can tell this guys accounts a mile off now and it spoils it half the time. Same pattern, same attacks on the same people, its creepy. The guy needs serious help. Hope there is some justice at some point and he eventually gets hauled up for it.

Very entertaining, Clive. Thanks to you and DT for your time and effort in putting it together. Was interested that Dave concluded with an optimistic view of the current team and set up. I agree that next season could well be a very good one.

All the way back to Banbury on Saturday Dave was visibly upset at what happened and worried about what may or may not happen next. The R's family have rallied round and there have been a few offers of legal assistance if he needs it. I am hoping that the club (bar one individual) have built up a fondness for Dave and his fanzine over the years and may be able to add him to their submitted list of sellers outside the ground. There still seems like a long way to go before resolution and he is working tirelessly trying to get clarification.
The online version was well received but many older patrons still prefer to buy a paper copy at the game and this is what is under threat. There may be a loophole where fans could buy a subscription and then pick up a "free" copy at the game upon production of a subs voucher or somesuch but that takes the spontaneity out of the experience and may end up driving down sales which would be a disaster go forward as the mag is barely viable now. If anyone has any friends in QPR Operations they may like to put in a good word on behalf of Dave to see if they can get the club to "adopt" Dave. Hopefully the fact that he was supporter of the year not long ago might have a positive influence on what they can do for him. This will also affect Julie, Mike & Erik who also sell the mag on Dave's behalf.
