| Willock on 09:26 - Apr 21 with 1299 views | RBlock | Willock seems to have that little fluid body feint to him that was Eze's trademark, dipping the shoulder one way and coming out the other. It's great to watch. Like Eze and Chair, let's see him up his numbers next year. Obviously rotated at the start of the season before locking down a place in the 11, but he can easily improve on the three goals and four assists he has this year, and go on to be some player. | | | |

| Willock on 09:12 - Apr 21 by paulparker | He is fan and has been for a very long time And he is allowed an opinion like we all are ,I stopped listening to the podcast a very long time ago but if he was a guest then it makes a change from having some of the players on who just bore you to death |
Think the player interviews are almost always interesting personally and the lads do a tremendous job, giving up their time to provide a bit of audio content for those that want it. Big sigh. Let's do this one more time for those finding it difficult: Yes, he is allowed his opinion. People are also allowed to disagree with it and, if they want, call it out as b0ll0cks. It works both ways. And then, if you want, you can in turn do the same to that opinion. But saying 'he's allowed his opinion' is meaningless. No one ever said he wasn't.

I had no idea he was a QPR fan and have no idea how Open All R’s even got involved with him: Which implies why are we giving him the time and day to express his opinions because a poster doesn't like his or the way undercover officers do their work and that they knock up trade unionists i stopped listening to the podcast a long time ago as i found it boring and the people on there don't represent me as a QPR fan which is probably why you like it , but when they did they had some lad off the inbetweeners , alan johnson etc who are in the public eye and they didn't get posts about them and their profession , as ive said he is a QPR fan , like you and i are he is allowed an opinion without some tangent post about "being all i imagined " and bring up using dead babies names etc , its a thread about a player that's been in form the last 10 games
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

not sure what you're going on about to be honest. I disagree frequently with views on the pod, that was the point of my post! So they don't always represent me either. I find some views on it infuriating. but I find it interesting and especially like listening after good results. Makes me feel nice and warm to wallow in victory a bit. People probably know who alan Johnson is, so no need to post about his job. People were asking who Peter was and someone replied. Not sure why you're so upset about a pod you don't like or listen to? Seems weird. Funny though, listening to PB, I did wonder if he was you! obviously he's not, but you did pop into my mind.

| Willock on 22:29 - Apr 20 by Antti_Heinola | it's true to an extent, but a lot of the 'easy to knock off the ball' stuff came courtesy of two moments on debut as a sub. A lot of pre-conceived notions about him, not least from the bloke on the Open All Rs pod last week, who must've been watching a different player to me this season, talking a load of nonsense about how he looked like he didn't care and had a poor attitude. |
I haven't listened to the pod (same as PP I stopped ages ago, but for largely diff reasons) but agree completely with the first part, I think people are quick to attach certain traits onto players that tend to follow them around, which is what I think has happened here. Willock looks very young (literally, he looks 14 in the face) and he's quite slight generally, that along with his lack of experience in a 'men's league' I think adds to this misconception that he's weak. He's clearly not that but the ability to stay on the ball, shield it, maintain possession under pressure is more to do with his intelligence and balance, than brute strength. He uses his body to put it between the player and ball whilst keeping it close and under control. He's always had that, I just think the main difference is that he now has more confidence to take players on, so we're seeing that ability more often. Also, I fckin love him and hope he continues to flourish, the more he plays the more I see little glimpses of Eze style movement and trickery. His end product is superb too, whether it's the final ball or penultimate pass before the chance is created, he's making things happen. A little more fine tuning with finishing and being clinical in the area and he could legitimately be one of the best young players in the league. [Post edited 21 Apr 2021 11:39]

Definitely wasn’t what I meant PP. Just seemed like a random guest that’s all. Would be equally surprised if Mr Tumble from CBeebies was a QPR fan and they got him on there. I have no issue with his presence, and it’s not my business if I did anyway. It’s a great podcast and an interesting guest. The rest of the stuff I mentioned was an aside.

Don’t know if that was snide or not, apologies if not, but if it was you should probably read the article as ask yourself if you would approve of your daughters of sisters going through something similar. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I think it was me having a pop, not you Bazz. But didn't like the guy's opinions or attitudes much. Fair enough if PP doesn't like my opinions or attitudes. Got no problem with that. I suspect we're never going to see eye to eye. But then this would be a really dull site if we all agreed, so just as well. And Anttii, weirdly I thought exactly the same! I really enjoy the players and ex-players coming on, Rob Dickie was excellent and I also enjoyed Charlie Austin's interview.

| Willock on 21:53 - Apr 20 by aston_hoop | If £750k is true, its a ridiculous bargain |
It's a triumph of development more than it is recruitment. The real price is in the time it took to cultivate an obviously talented player that wasn't ready-made - as far as the initial outlay goes he's a bargain because we made him into one when others couldn't or wouldn't. Now we're reaping the rewards, with much more to come.

it's one of this set-up's biggest strengths i think. Under Redknapp, for example, probably only Austin really improved. to be fair to McClaren, he really took Freeman to another level. but Warbs (and the coaches) is doing it with a lot of players.

| Willock on 13:31 - Apr 21 with 739 views | rsonist | Willock's been huge for Chair too. He admitted in an interview this year after he committed to the long term deal that Eze and Bright were like brothers to him. We could easily have rebuilt a different kind of side in their wake, a more pragmatic one that might have hit the ground running sooner, but this way we share the responsibility and encourage the wavelength mutually as they grow together. | | | |

yeah, Chair, Eze and BOS had that wonderful understanding on the pitch, and it's been great how willock and Chair (and to some extent Thomas now, in flashes) have a similar kind of link.
