Sounds like a great addition. Even if Wallace maintained the form that he showed since Christmas, it would be unrealistic to expect him to be an ever-present. I hope Wallace starts the season though, I feel his form last year has earned him that right.
With regard to Niko, I wonder would it be a good idea, to keep him around McCallum until Christmas, then say to him, 'This is what we expect from you, now go out on loan and do it and we will see how you progress'. The beauty of the long contract, is that we have plenty of time to see if he can kick on, or needs to be sold to a lower league club.

I'm really not sure Hamalainen can be given much more time. He's 24 now and has been at QPR for almost 7 years during which time he's played 29 games for the first team, been out on a couple of loans, and appeared for Finland 7 times. Yet he's never really looked like he can cut it in the Championship and that's why McCallum has been brought in. |  | | |

Yesterday I was under the impression that players under the age of 23 were not required to be named in 25 man squad.
This is incorrect as reading up on EFL rules it states only U21 yr olds are eligible to play without being named.
This is not the case with players such as Sam McCallum as they have to be included in original 25 due to being a loan player. | | | |
