As mentioned the hiring and firing doesn't work for most clubs, but seems to for Watford.
It's a horses for courses approach - the last guy did the job of getting them promoted, they've taken the view actually he's probably not good enough to keep them up, Ranieri is available and interested so they've got him in.
Last time they were in the Prem they sacked the manager far too late and then got Pearson in but still went down, so understandably they thought it was better to take action now rather than wait. |  |
