| Manning 11:19 - Jan 26 with 6283 views | Logman | There looked to be no love lost between SJ, Charlie and Manning. Good. Shame we couldn't quite score from a mistake by him - but sadly he didn't make any. Comparing him with our left centre back (Barbet), ours was just as good though and went on a couple of rampaging runs at the end. | | | | |

Dykes should have pushed right into him and bullied him

| Manning on 13:04 - Jan 26 with 4755 views | Harbour | The constant falling over trying to con the ref was annoying but I could not understand the level of dogs abuse he was getting from the crowd. Yes sure he left for more money but that was down to the club. Thought he was an ok player for us but got no problem with him now he has left.Am I missing something? | | | |

Well he didn't kick him in the head, he kicked Albert's boot.

He didn't, nor when JoJo came to clean him out, and went up in my estimation for it. He's a diver, a whinger and lazy as sin. But he took some punishment last night, and got on with it.

The referee could not stop blowing his whistle. The game just never got going. Free kick, stoppage, injury, free kick

Reckon a contradiction there Brian in being a 'whinger' and 'just got on with it'. I get your not a fan, but never had him down as lazy, as shown by that clip where he busts a gut to get back and block Amos's shot.

As I said, went up in my estimation last night for getting on with it, but my God he loved a whinge when he was with us! He was also shockingly lazy for us, happy to trot back on many occasions when out of possession as dangerous breaks developed. No sense of urgency or responsibility. He once watched as his man gathered a rebound from a peno, had a shot, which was saved, had another shot and scored. All the time he just watched, never moved an inch. And then whinged at our goalie! No, I wasn't a fan, safe to say.

It was. I'm not even 100% sure it was a shot. What do others think?

I thought it was an attempted cross when I first saw it and haven't changed my mind on looking at that back

| Manning on 14:35 - Jan 26 with 4218 views | kensalriser | Had a very good view of that from R block and it was undoubtedly a shot. Great work from Amos, but I never really thought it was going in, he left it a fraction too late and the angle tightened. | |

Fair enough, I think the 'happy to trot back' comment could be relevant as he learnt from the master of the art, Mr Bidwell - that lad walked past me so often towards the east paddock I though he was the matchday programme seller! I never had him down as being lazy, just needed to learn the art of defending as initially had a habit of almost 'freezing' and watching on at times, similar to a few of our other defenders in that team. Still we agree on Mr Austin's suspect character, to the fore again last night in getting Downes sent off, just another distraction for an another unacceptable performance, was blowing out of his arse after 20 minutes, not sure I've ever seen a footballer at this level so out of condition - Ill get my tin-hat!

IMO I think it was a shot. He looks up once just before going on the run and I don't think he even looks before striking the ball. I think you'd look up before crossing? Once Manning steps aside he probably thought go for it and at worst it'll come of the keeper and someone will pick up the rebound?

| Manning on 16:02 - Jan 26 with 3885 views | Toast_R | Wasn't he a midfielder at first and quite a good one? Seem to remember him bursting through on goal against Fulham one time and in his loan at Rotherham he scored quite a few. | | | |

I don't think he was ever really interested in the defensive side. I quite liked him as a winger but you can see how the team has progressed by the difference between him and Adomah - eight and a half years older, admits he's a winger rather than a natural full-back, but still working his socks off to master the wing-back role because he knows that's what it takes to get in the side.
| Manning on 16:48 - Jan 26 with 3698 views | Red_Ranger | i thought he was their best player last night. I dont know what he said when or after he left but i always liked him on the pitch. | | | |
| Manning on 16:53 - Jan 26 with 3674 views | mcqpr10 | Find the Manning situation quite frustrating. Warbs and previously Eustace had him playing tremendously well as a left back. He was a real attacking outlet and provided great options going forward. Got a few goals too in the eze season,. Yes, defensively suspect but he did start life as a number 10. He would be perfect as a wing back with Barbet covering behind him an in our current situation Unfortunately he thought he could get a 'bigger' club, lost in the play offs, below us in the league livng in Swansea playing centre back. So both QPR and Manning have lost out, we could do with him and his career would probably of improved by staying. | | | |

Not sure all that 'punishment' was as bad as it might have looked on TV Brian. From T block where most of it 'happened' it didn't look half as bad as he made out and as I've said before he didn't need any treatment whatsoever.
| Manning on 18:48 - Jan 26 with 3451 views | davman | Indifference is the word that should describe our feelings for him, just like BOS, Hall, Bidwell, Wells, Hugill and Lumley amongst others. They left for cash, no doubt and that is their want. Good luck to them for maximising their limited talent. Manning's behaviour last night is consistent with his behaviour at QPR. An absolute cockwomble when against us, tolerable when with us. But, oh my god, they are all so average and (possibly Wells aside) have been replaced by better models in this class of 22. | |
