I thought the idea was to ditch them?

Bit disappointing really.

Never knowingly right.

eventually gambling advertising and partnerships with sport will be banned but it won't make a difference. Banning Cigarette companies from sponsoring sporting events and advertising didn't stop people smoking and is the same with gambling, alcohol, fast food etc

Having said that we do seem to get in bed with obscure betting companies who seem to go bust before the deal ends

Your last line is more of a genuine concern, but if this was a new non betting company just setting up and we signed them up, no one would bat an eyelid!

Never going to agree and I respect others views, but deaths and cost to NHS of alcohol and cigarettes are just not in the same universe as similar for gambling related problems.

Its the summer, we're all chilled so will leave this there now I think!

But as was said by the previous poster, smoking ads were banned years ago and the commercial companies have had to fill their advertising with something else.Unfortunately betting companies are one of the only growth industry left to fill the void.

Lockdown provided an opportunity to see what would happen when there were no sports available. It was thought people would switch to the online games, roulette, etc and for a time they did but very quickly the number of people gambling went down. One area did increase and they were predominately at harm from gambling, male, white, and younger.

ANY betting sponsorship will attract more income to bookies.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

This isn't just 'a betting company', it's a dubious entity backed by a Russian who has the kind of profile which is somewhat similar to those who service Putin's rotten, homicidal empire. The company operates via shell companies in Cyprus and the Seychelles, so it's also dodging tax. It strikes me as being little better than a money laundering outfit, and if you feel happy supporting Putin's extended family of enablers, that's your choice. It's a massive blunder by the club to climb into bed so quickly with YET ANOTHER dodgy betting firm - thanks to Euan Inglis. who was also responsible for the Royal Panda fiasco (and maybe Sporting Index too?).

Betting is undoubtedly a much bigger blight on society than it was a few decades ago, but put that to one side for a moment - I don't want Russian cash anywhere near our club and certainly not emblazoned across our shirts. Leave that to the scum.

1 How do you know it’s a dubious entity??
2 How is the MD similar to Putin? .
3 How do you know they are dodging tax ?
4 How do they launder money ?
5 How do you know what research was done before partnering ?

We are a club that hosted the Saudi Cup , as far as I know I was the only person who E Mailed the club to protest .
I think we need to get some perspective
