That's Just reminded me of something I looked up the other day.

Someone mentioned Port Vale and I though 'where the bloody hell IS Port Vale?' So I looked it up and turns out it's the only team in the football league not named after a place.

"their name being a reference to the valley of ports on the Trent and Mersey Canal. They have never played top-flight football, and hold the record for the most seasons in the English Football League (111)"

I also wondered what the stadium looked like it holds 15.000.

To get back on topic as we have a lot of flat roof space could solar generate enough for us? Thinking of a shit January afternoon or do the batteries charge in all conditions?

I refer my honourable friend to Raith Rovers. Although Scottish rather than EFL.

I assumed Raith was a place in Scotland as it sounds Scottish.

The place that isn't a place has a battle named after it too that I've never heard of.

St Johnstone is another although Perth where they are from was originally known as St John's Toun (St John's Town).

I know they play in Nailsworth, but didn't they originate in the village of Forest Green?

It may be that the town has grown & the village is now integrated.
