It’s not just us that get caught out with zonal marking for free kicks! Classic case of three defenders playing musical statues while the ball goes behind them and straight to the guy unchallenged at the far post. |

I know that it's years ago now, but I recall Chris Kamara on Goals on Sunday saying that statistics show that more goals were scored from man marking than zonal defending. He wasn't happy that this was the case!
It may have been that at that time not many clubs used zonal!
Personally, I always expect defenders & attackers to win some of the aerial challenges whichever system is used. |  | | |
