Gab Sutton has published his predictions for the Championship for the coming season - a few suprises but a good read!

He has also done deep dives of all of the clubs including this one on QPR with Clive as his guest which is worth a watch (it was recorded a couple of weeks ago, so before Willock/Armstrong left and before Celar signed).

FYI every single interview we’ve done so far says they need at least one striker. And four (Derby, Blackburn, Pompey, Oxford) have said “we’re totally fcked”.

And what was your reply?

Fascinated what fans of Preston and Cardiff think. Lads, you are sh*t on almost all metrics and have been over performing when it comes to your league position by a long way. You’re due a sh*t season. Would not be surprised and would quite enjoy either getting relegated.

In terms of who I’d like to go down, I’d take any of Sunderland, Preston, Cardiff, Stoke, Derby, Millwall, and Blackburn. Obviously Leeds too, but clearly not happening.

I think it's a significantly worse league than last year.

Once you've written down the teams that definitely won't and highly likely won't challenge (Oxford, Plymouth, Blackburn, Derby, Watford, Millwall, Pompey, Cardiff, Preston, Sunderland, Stoke, Swansea, Norwich, Sheff Wed, Bristol City and QPR) who and what are you left with? Only eight teams for a start, and of those...

Sheff Utd in a state.
West Brom FFPd into a corner but a great manager.
Hull will spend, but atm 63 of their 68 goals from last year ain't there any more.

That leaves...

Coventry, Luton, Burnley, Boro, Leeds.

Exactly this - did my 1-24 today. Feels like some bang average teams are going to get in the play offs, while the bottom third is going to be very sore on the eyes. For the first pre-season since Warbs it doesn’t feel like we should be looking over our shoulder too much

Great season for it all to be shown across the box by our Sky ‘football is nothing without the fans’ Overlords.

And as a complete side note - starting to get excited for it all to come back, not least to see threads arguing about whether Chair holds onto it too long and not the latest race/religion/political issue in the news (thoughts with all moderators since the Euros ended and we’ve entered this shouty hinterland)

DId they mean us or them??

And if they meant THEM, then I guess you haven't done Plymouth yet

Every club in Championship need a striker. Or so they say.
The exceptions are likely to be the relegated clubs, if they can keep the ones from last season. Leeds are likely to have Gnonto, Pirlo, Bamford and Gelhart (sic!)

Blackburn are v likely to lose Szmodics and sold Gallagher to Stoke. 3 new strikers will need to hit the ground running.
The other 3 ought to struggle.

Just over a week to go and it can’t come soon enough.

Sunderland to win it? I've got them down as struggling this season, as we know it takes at least a season to recover from Beale.
Reckon we'll either just scrap into or just miss the playoffs. It's that damn hope rearing it's head again.......
