Noticed Madsen was a lot more pacey in chasing down today and actually won two or three decent challenges.

Sometimes you have to hold your hands up to some players and say well done.

They are all talented players otherwise they would not get the opportunities in this league but as young men getting shed loads of grief from fans and bearing in mind also they are all living in a foreign land out of their home environment a d comforts, it takes some guts to gradually improve when fans are getting on your back.

Appreciate some will say it's the bare minimum expected but I thought he played well today and definitely credit where credit is due.

Keep going sire !!

We have a different formation when we had the ball today and Madsen was more central. Instead of 4231, we were playing 4132 with Madsen higher up the pitch, Varane holding and Morgan behind the front two. After we scored the first goal, Madsen was deeper and we reverted a bit but words were had at one of the breaks in the 1st half and he pushed up more.

I'm not sure he has the engine or pace to play a box to box but he was much better today.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

I like the guy and think he'll turn out to be a success. People compare him to Dozzell but he's already got comparable stats to him and he was here how long? These players are new to this country and league, they're coming in to a team that's itself evolving during an injury crisis and while we're in the relegation zone. We can see that things are picking up now.

I particularly like the fact that his Instagram seems similarly languid. A picture of him standing in a field. A picture of him standing next to a marina. A picture of him standing in a road. Of course he wouldn't mind house sitting for a few hours!

He has been disappointing but the last 3 games he appears to be working a lot, lot harder, even shutting players down quicker & I think I saw him make a tackle yesterday. He has footballing skills, more than many of the players.....

Madsen has changed. Now, he gets back into position to fill the gaps. Which makes it really hard to break us down.

However, he still cannot get up the pitch quickly enough for breakaways. or to support the forward (which is the position he's playing now). But he's getting stuck into the tackling a bit more (just a bit more not a lot, but that's improved his all over game). Which you saw for the third goal.

He has the skill; he can do the correct five-yard simple pass sideways and also the clever through balls. The problem for him is you need to be in the last third quickly enough before the entire oppo defence gets back. Hes not there fast enough. Freeman could do this (not the slow overweight one, the lean fit Freeman), which with his skill made him a top champ player and got him a prem move.

Madsen needs to do a year's worth of Gerry Terrible Tuesdays: run, run, run. It has worked for Frey, who has learned that you need to run around like a maniac. Even if it looks like it won't work, it does. Even Chair runs and runs.

It's stupid, but that is the reality of the Champ, it's an endless grind of running around like maniacs. Otherwise, you will get carved up by PNE, who will then do shithousery to win.

zzzzzzzzzz

Will give him credit that his work rate is way up on a month ago and he shows some nice touches .

I also think we all forget he’s only 24 . I know that’s not especially young but because of his size and the way he plays I think he gets less leeway than others .

However , I still didn’t think he contributed a great deal when we had the ball yesterday. Can’t really tell where he is playing .

Improving slowly and maybe he needs a full season to adapt. But we still need so much more from a player who clearly has talent

Two games in a row when he's been involved in the nastiest tackle in the match. The guy is turning into an enforcer before our very eyes...

Think he got a bit of a rocket at half time. The whole team first half v second was completely different, but he was the most stark between the two for me.

Reminds me a bit of that other Danish disappointment...the little mermaid. It's a decent monument, a good story, has the potential to be quality, but ultimately a bit lightweight, a bit fishy and could be so much more.

Yes, it seems he likes to float into positions and take opportunities as they come, both sides of the ball. On the press sometimes I think his thoughts are “oh I need to press!” And from a standstill he sprints at the otherwise open opposition. On offense he’s best as someone who accompanies others pushing down the pitch as an option more than someone who threatens on his own. Frustrating as we need more in the center
