What's going on with the Roosters?

Lost a lot of good young players and lost a lot of experience. Add to that Tedesco has seen better days and Radley must be close to retirement with the amount of head knocks he's had.
They'll be near the bottom I reckon.
I think Brisbane will push Penrith all the way this year. Maguire has landed on his feet again like he did with Souths back in the day.

No sympathy at all for the depleted Roosters who spawned a fluke against the Green machine in the Grand Final of 2019, via having the ref in their back pocket . Not that i hold any grudge!

Their salary cap always seems more malleable than sally bercows multi speed non doctor strap fleurs-de-lys , How they can fit so many superstar players under the limit is a miracle of some wonder season after season.

Can't see past Brisbane, Storm and Penrith. Again. I reckon the sharks and the Bulldogs will have a good season, as will the tigers, comparatively speaking, as they have made some superb signings.

Interesting to see how lewis Dodd gets on at the rabbitohs, a fine player but doomed to fail imo with the toxicity there.

As for my lot, THe Raiders look out for Our fullback Keo weekes. winger Xavier savage and half Ethan Strange. Magic.

I reckon our usual 7th to 10th finish ,which given the young players in our squad will be reasonable. I think Canberra have a very bright future and will be a top four side again in the next couple of years.

Best sport on earth the NRL.. As Jonathan E said in 'Rollerball'.. 'I love this game Moonpie'!

I'm sure you NRL english fans already know but the following podcasts / you tube content are good;

bloke in a bar
6 tackles with Gus
Freddy and the eighth
Blake and the pork (Canberra raiders)

Silence, ye doubters!!!

Terrible list management to let a team grow old together, poor recruitment of Leniu and Brandon Smith combined with bad luck on Sua’ali’i and Tupuoniua leaving and Walker getting crocked. They played last week like they had no forwards at all, so without Collins this week I thought they might ship 80. What do I know, except perhaps that the Broncos might be very good again under a tougher coach.

To be fair, Dom Young was hopeless last week but excellent today.

Both games were great this morning.
Thought the Panthers would do it all the way through that last 10 minutes.

Raiders.

lol at the experts predicting the wooden spoon for the green machine. Gave the bronco's a cuckolding not seen sally bercow took a shower with dj clinton oliver at her old mans grace and favour battersea dwelling.

With a pack of Tapine, Papali', Horsburgh, Hudson Young, Mooney, Hosking, Mariota and England international forwards Nicholson and Smithies, theres more chance of me sprouting a boneless parastic twin from my solar plexus than Raiders getting the wooden spoon.

NRL . it's all too beautiful,

And what are these signs of life in Hull FC!
Caused a bit of a scene in the Crown last night.

An interesting game this Friday Cive. I'm hoping that Trinity can win at home for the first time this season (100% away wins) & for the first time in years I'm sure that they won't be close to the bottom!

Really disappointing start for the Dolphins in the first couple of games...I thought getting Nikorima back would help, and it did in the halves, but the loss of Lemuelu and Finefeuiaki took the guts out of the pack.
The Tigers looked like they were having fun yesterday though, once they settled down they looked like they were playing with their mates in the park...sterner tests ahead though, as the Eels were hilariously bad.
This year could be a lot of fun...

Just watched a replay of Melbourne-Penrith. What a competition the NRL is, chuck the reserves, they’ll still be fantastic.

That was rugby league at its very best. For Penrith to still be that competitive against the very best (one of) the best teams after the number of quality players they have lost since winning their first title, is testament to the quality at their disposal in their reserves and feeder clubs. I thought the full-back, Jenkins, third choice!! had a good game, other than when he failed to get off the ground to contest a high ball.

Penrith may have lost, but the fact that they ran Melbourne so close without Edwards and Cleary, who got injured early in the game, will boost their confidence for the rest of the season.

I don't believe Ivan Cleary gets as much credit as he should after what he has achieved in the salary cap era. Love the NRL, just watched the first-half of Warrior v Roosters and there was so much quality in evidence in that game too. Even Dom Young appears to be playing with greater discipline.
