So, I keep seeing a lot of calls for a 20 goal a season striker.
Me, less so and here's why:
Obviously, If/buts/maybes, at this season's scoring rate (goals per minute), this is how many goals each player (who's scored this season) would theoretically get over a 46 game season:

Saito (6)
Dunne (6)

So, based on some oversimplification, injuries and poor selection are our problem not lack of goal scorers.
Something to hang some positivity on anyway.

The reality is that just wouldn't happen which is why we've not had a 20-goal scorer for donkey's years. Injuries have played a big part in this being a poor season but if all players fully fit I'd be surprised if they were churning them out with that kind of regularity.

Yeah I was really clear that this had a lot of suppositions, but even if this was 50% accurate that’s a lot of goals.

Great post, everyone contributing, not being over positive it’s a record year for number of scorers. Personally would not have to rely on one ( will get shot down now). So when we can’t afford that illusion 20 goals a season striker this has to be the best alternative |  | | |

As Clive has also said, if the players (Academy ones aside) we have were better than they are then they wouldn't be playing at QPR! :)
But yes, a great spread of scorers I think is really good.

With only about eight matches left it looks like only Sainz and Piroe will get 20 goals (though i appreciate that we dont have anybody in that list) so if there is a 20 goal striker out there i think there would be a lot of competition for him | | | |

There are only 4 players in the Prem on track (or already achieved) for 20 goals. There are only 2 in the Championship; Brownhill's numbers per game have him just under so let's call it 3.
What we actually need is a 13/14 goal striker, and the 3 behind to get closer to double figures and our central midfielders to be getting 5+ |  | | |

Another issue to bear in mind is that if we were willing to buy a 20 goal a season Championship striker and if that were possible without affecting S&P - unlikely - that striker might not choose to come to QPR.
We are talking about rare beasts here and there would be fierce competition for their signature. We all love Rangers but sadly, for many players, clubs with a bigger fanbase and swankier grounds could prove more of a draw. Unfortunately...  |  |
