SD Formentera v UE Sant Andreu (former club of our own Sr. Cifuentes) last season, Spanish 4th tier. 10 euros in or 20 euros if you wanted to stay for the post-match paella in the clubhouse. They started making it in an area behind the goal in large pans just before kick off, thankfully covered enough to avoid wayward shots. It smelled wonderful and by full time, we were in the clubhouse salivating. Its Spain so the table wine was very much help yourself, the Formentera club president was quite amused a few English guys were there and made sure to keep us well stocked with wine and the paella itself was absolutely sensational. The players were all in there getting involved too. Stumbled out of there sometime very late afternoon with that proving to be the best tenner I'd ever spent adding that to my match ticket. the smell of onions walking down south africa road in the 70's just made you want to have one of those hotdogs off the little burger stalls, tons of ketchup so covered up any foul taste.
but even though you never knew what you were eating, i loved them.
the massive frankfurters sold around the ground when we played cologne in '76.

Not in the same league geographically, culturally, or experience wise but I had this immense pork roll served in a similar style at Leeds away about 15 years ago that knocked my socks off and always thought it strange that it never took off down here. | | | |

Randomly, during one of my summers off from uni, way back when, one summer I had a temporary job for Letherby and Christopher.
They were the suppliers of hospitality and catering for Arsenal football club at the time. Couple of years after I was there, they had a brief period supplying and providing catering staff and provisions for QPR.
I was working in the accounts team and even way back then I noticed how much money they made out of these contracts.
There weren't too many Mini Metros in the car park....
As for football food, it's always fricking awful, it never improves and surely it always has to be inedible.
It's folklore that states it truly has to be gut wrenching. Hence why I only occasionally have a snickers and a coffee.... |  |

Not at football, but the most innovative for me for snacking grub, was a company that did a hog roast, with literally the pig rotating on a spit above their portable barbecue.

I went to Union Berlin once about 10 years ago, and at the back of their standing section they had people barbecuing and selling these spiced, boneless, pork chops in pretzel buns for 2 euros. still one of the best things I've eaten anywhere. then the beer was about 2 euros a pint and they had blokes wandering through the crowd selling that too. | | | |

A Forest mate took me to this little shop in West Bridgford, that I think only sold pork rolls on match days. Absolutely lush.
Pasties down at Torquay - was battered and hungry, so spent most of the game eating pasties.
Worst thing ever eaten at a game: Scotch pie at Partick Thistle that looked and tasted like it had been in a cupboard since about 1954. Not even brown sauce could make it palatable. Had to give up 1/3rd of the way through. Absolutely minging. |  |
