No, the capacity at St Helens for next season does not meet the minimum requirements for the Premiership, clubs are refused promotion for that reason alone. It could be upgraded, but English Premiership rules are tight in other area's as well.

Ospreys go and the players [those that haven't gone already] who have played for Wales won't be able to play for Wales if they haven't hit the 25 cap requirement, also they are gonna lose the conveyor belt of Welsh players that have been produced here.

Can't believe that these clueless goons are still there pulling the strings.

If the Ospreys decide to join the RFU because they are the team to be cut, where will that funding come from? It won't be from the WRU.

If the Ospreys are dropped and imo they will be then there’s no funding anyway .

Okay but that about, just for example, there was another ground in the city, that they could use until the capacity at St Helens reach the amount?

I doubt that they'll be wanted back at the ground you mean, plus there's other factors and not just the ground, they can go and play across the bridge, but not in the Premiership, although I can't see them being able to play over there anyway.

With the Gallagher premiership moving to a franchise model with no promotion or relegation, I fear it wouldn’t matter where we played.

I love the idea but it’s not going to happen.

It's a shame because this ground issue falls right in the back stabbing WRU hands.

I strongly wish the regions would now stand together and, for the sake of future rugby in Wales, actually down tools and effectively go on strike. Stronger together if you like.
The problem is that they look like they are only interested in their own futures. Good luck in playing in front of even smaller crowds with no rivalry and a big section of rugby support turning their back

Cardiff have been bailed out twice and I think Newport so they'll never support anything going against the WRU.
I think the Scarlets have received financial help from WRU as well, I don't recall the only true region Ospreys getting any.

WRU calling the licences the east, west and Capital shows you how tunnel visioned they are. Conspiracy theorists will be all over the cardiff project showing how they are trying to stop Swansea having anything that would be a contender in us being a regional success. Getting rid of first class cricket getting rid of first class rugby - at some point maybe the Welsh FA will get on board

Hasn't the Welsh FA already set their stall out by taking the national game out of the provinces ?

Wales now confines itself to Ely in the west , St Mellons in the east , Whitchurch in the north and Spott in the south

It wouldn't do any harm if everyone posted a message like this on any forum you currently use. I posted this on Nation Cymru.

The WRU. Liars. Every single one of them. Yet another example of the bias toward the South East at the expense of the rest of Wales. I hope all the Plaid MS’s read Nation Cymru and this article and do something about it.

If that joke of a CEO Tierney did actually say in April that they’d already made a decision while supposedly having an open mind in ongoing discussions in the following months with all regions, she deserves to be sacked now. And the whole of WRU board should go with her because there is no way that they would not have known about this.

To the Plaid government – this is such an obvious example of pro Cardiff and the South East bias at the expense of the rest of Wales you really have to do something about it.

Plaid still can't sort themselves out, they can't or won't answer any questions posed Ron talking horse Jones is just interested in devolution, and that horrible piece of work Sioned Williams either walks out or losing her temper.

There is something Swansea people and Port Talbot and Neath Valley can do to turn around the narrative. It is not petitions marches or narratives.

It is to turn out at the Ospreys in big numbers and buy season tickets in big numbers. The rugby caught a hold originally . I watched the Osprey v Wasps in front of 19000, at the Swansea .com. Shane Phillips Henson etc.

The demand no longer seems to be there and the trajectory is not good. Welsh rugby is the only business where shrinkage is the plan for the future, In fighting and division will get you nowhere. Osprey need 8000 every week and then can ask why the Dragons are not the one on the chopping block. Crowds bring cash a interest and advertisers. It is up to the ity of Swansea Neath and Port Talbot.

"Do you want rugby in this city?" Seeing off the Scarlet's should be easy.

I think the underlying feeling is that.
It is important to note that, and maybe it is something even the WRU can understand, is that last season that Scarlet's biggest attendance was over 12000 against the Ospreys while they managed 9000 against Blues. They plan to remove that rivalry. Gwent dragons had 8000 against their rivals. The Ospreys managed 19500 against the Scarlets at our ground Christmas 2016 so they certainly have the support and ability to fill the ground.
Back to the underlying feeling. I know everyone on the rugby side is keen to get a season ticket but is now very wary of what Cardiff ( we might as well call the WRU that) are intent on doing.
Maybe keep 4 region and in future let the 4th region get relegated and promoted from the Welsh premiership (obviously funded in a different model while each team is out of the URC)

It was 20,500 in 2008 for the Ospreys v Scarlets.

I like to think that in time your views and mine will gradually align. It is an entirely natural process and beneficial in overall society. You will in time approve of my post s more and more.

Remember in POTY I got 4 votes in 2022 and a whopping 41 in 2023. I humbly rest my case.

There is a massive difference between Regions and semi professional rugby in Wales, drop down and you wouldn't have the quality to return.

I see AWJ has joined the Osprey’s board as a director. Not a bad person to have on your side to be fair.
