Keeping players from last season has made this team a strong unit, giving us a big advantage over newish teams still evolving and learning.

We've good leadership with Ebanks, Gordon, and Gilmore helping guide the team and maintain cohesion.

Currently great days supporting Dale.

It was a pleasure to watch that Dale side today. Cool, efficient, brilliantly organised and always a man available to take a pass and move on.
We saw a bit of that last season, but no way did I think Jim would have us playing so well, so often. 11 wins out of 13 is beyond remarkable.
I could cite 6 out of that starting 11 today who played so well, any team in this league, and even the one above, would want them in their squads.
To date, the manager, his backroom staff and the players have got something exceptional going at RAFC. Long may it continue and credit their CV's, which will always benefit from having the "promotion" word inserted.
Stay here and finish the job you are more than capable of completing. UP THE DALE.

We have a number of players who could make the step up.

Excellent performance again today. If the players can keep their hunger levels high and don't let complacency creep in against percieved lesser opposition we are going to take some stopping. It was noticeable that the moment we suddenly shift up the tempo of our passing and movement the opposition can't live with us. We look a different team when we inject a bit of pace into how we play. Another positive is Ryan East, he's a different player in a more forward role and is now adding goals to his game. Gordon was also back to his best today. Smiths cameo was interesting, his movement was very good but he still looks a yard short on fitness, get him match fit and he could prove a very good signing, he was unlucky not to score.

I think your comment about the pace of passing is the critical element, in the past we have spent vital seconds dwelling on the ball before moving it, now the movement is much quicker and the rapid progress up the pitch is creating better opportunities... it also leaves other teams short handed because the ball is travelling faster then their legs!
Even Hogan, whilst still very defensively- minded was certainly shifting the ball quicker than in his last appearance, good coaching or a penny dropping, either way an excellent performance.
Having a player with more pace up front (Smith) coming on in the later stages will be a way to capitalise on tired legs in the opponent's defence, he just needs to integrate a little more with the other players i.e. reading his movements and he, reading theirs, and the goals will come for him...
I see Mancini is injured again, the gamble on his fitness looks like going south if we can't come up with a solution, which is a pity as there have been brief cameos of his abilities that I have enjoyed. It seems some people are genetically disposed to muscle injuries and require careful treatment and training. Hopefully, the physios have figured out why it keeps happening, but if we could get him fit for the second half of the season he would be an excellent addition

Hero to zero in 12 minutes.

Kyle Ferguson, never given a real chance at Dale was applauded when teams read out by a few sat near me and i echoed that sentiment.

Then he did that today. Mani pushed him over in the chest as 2,700+ people saw in the ground, but then chose to hold his face in red card attempt. This reminded me of a game in a Dale shirt where he feigned head injury, was treated and off for 30 seconds, during which we conceded. It’s as low an act as a player can go and got the deserving boos.

Onto Dale, it’s fair to say that 3-0 flattered Yeovil, and that was at half time.

First goal was a contender for how many passes before a goal
Second was all Dave, served it on a plate
Third was smart finish by East - who is full on purple patch mode.

Can we ban sponsors for giving Mani M.O.M. unless he gets a hat-trick please? Dave was simply fantastic today.

Yes. That first goal. 30 passes perhaps? Imagine if a premiership team had done that!

Noticed the Southend game is showing as rearranged on various fixture lists for Tues 18/11. That’ll be 6 games in 19 days so the squad will be tested next month.

Actually 8 in 26 including the final NL Cup game. Tuesday fixtures four weeks running.

Best make the most of this week's rest

We'll need the weather to be kind too

From high up in the Pearl St, the centre of the pitch looks as if it's starting to sag, i.e. not level. If our midfield are aware of this, we can take it into account with distribution

Congrats to Mr and Mrs EEL.

Superb win Dale in total control throughout.

Hard to be overly critical on any player especially a defender after a clean sheet but I thought Hogan looked off the pace and his misplaced pass very nearly gifted Yeovil a goal at 1-0 and what would have been an undeserved way back into the game.

Mani D - Fantastic.. lets hope him and Rodney stay fit all season.

I thought Mani might see red after the pushing and shoving.. In the end the ref got that one right.

The whole team look on it.. brilliant. 11 wins from 13 is stuff of dreams.

A tough looking November coming up. we will know a lot more about our chances in this league in 5 or 6 weeks time.

All roads now lead to Woking.

That straight pass from the central defender to Gilmour on the edge of the box is the one that's been our undoing numerous times over the past couple of seasons. Invariably Gilmour has two forwards on his back and the slightest miss control or bobble leaves the forwards with a clear shot on goal. It seems like high risk for very little reward because Gilmour's only option is to pass it to one of the wide defenders, the goalkeeper could do that. A bit different if Gilmour is on the half turn and not being pressed. Mani is experienced enough to not raise his arms, he was daft for giving the referee a decision to make. It was petulant and he's picked up another unnecessary booking

Good bounce back after consecutive home defeats but Mani's yellow card was so predictable - oppositions have sussed out he's a card in the waiting . We lost our way after the card for 20 mins (as McNulty acknowledged post match) and gave away the ball several times. Yeovil had 2 good chances from those mistakes (and hit the bar 2nd half) - better sides will punish us.

To be fair, they hit the post/bar in around the 93rd minute of a game that was done (& Taylor) and dusted in the first half and after a second period where the game's flow was disrupted by a series of very sensible and understandable substitutions.

Owdum had a lesser game v Local rivals Salford on Saturday.

They could not score and lost 1-0.

Dale 11 wins from 13 if we replicate this over the next 13 it will make for a very interesting second half of the season.

As previous… onwards to Woking.

And Boreham Wood... Away!!

Played 14 have Boreham Wood and lost once.. they sit 3rd in the table with the 3rd best goal difference in the national league.

Realistically that was another great win and marker by Dale.

I know, but I left them out because at the time we played them, we didn't know they would be doing so well, whereas Carlisle and Forest Green were (and still are) in the leading positions with us at the time of the games.

I'd also be very surprised if Boreham Wood sustain it, but good luck to them if they do.
