I don’t know much about sales and marketing, so I’ll take your opinion on this over mine, but I just don’t see it as the sort of thing people are going to do on a whim.
When we were at the Vetch and it was a tenner yes. Now you’re looking at around £30 for a ticket, best part of £100 for a family. That’s a lot of money to people who aren’t particularly bothered about it.
I may be wrong, but I’d imagine people who are prepared to spend that kind of money, particularly in the economic climate, already know were playing.
Having said all that, how much can a couple of electronic billboard advertisements cost? You see them advertising small local businesses, so they can’t be expensive. |

I agree, especially the bit about the big screen outside the ground.
I’m not saying they shouldn’t be doing it or that it would be expensive. I just don’t think it would make a lot of difference.
No one will convince me we’re losing fans because people don’t know when we’re playing. People who are invested enough to make the effort to go, as well as pay, already know when we’re playing.
Our owners and senior management are elite businessmen. If they thought they could add a couple of thousand to the gate with simple advertising, I’m sure they’d have the gumption to do it.
Edit - yes the arena is very good advertising. I do think touring comedians are a different proposition to a football club and are much more reliant on it. We certainly should be maximising the board at the ground in the same way though.

Tonight we need to see a big improvement on recent games,we need to replace Key no matter what ,if he got injured we would have to play someone else anyway so why not just try it
If Stamenic starts then we need him to be the player we saw in his first couple of games,looking to get on the front foot and not the negative sideways and back we’ve been getting off him in recent games
Sheehan will be under the spotlight from now on,let’s hope he’ll get us back to the way he had us playing at the end of last season

We were a bit passive against the relegated PL teams, although we did have a few decent spells against Leicester.
Other managers have fallen into the same trap. Duff did it just when he had us playing better football and picking up results.

This is the sensible solution for me. There are so many ways we can vary it as well. Particularly the position behind Vipotnik.
I doubt he’ll consider it though, as he seems to want all our attacks to come down the flanks. We rarely attempt to play through the middle. |
When we do it’s from a standing position via one of the centre backs, rolling the ball forwards and walking. That I find very annoying. | |
